This week, our team had the opportunity to attend the Senior-Friendly Manufactured Housing Presentation, and we left feeling truly inspired.

Students from the University at Buffalo’s Department of Architecture shared innovative, thoughtful ideas focused on creating safe, accessible, and affordable homes for older adults—an increasingly important need in our rural communities.

As aging manufactured housing continues to present challenges, it was encouraging to see practical, forward-thinking solutions that have the potential to make a real impact.

We were also glad to be there alongside partners from HCR, fellow nonprofits, and RPCs. Opportunities like this highlight the importance of collaboration in advancing affordable housing solutions.

We look forward to seeing how these ideas continue to grow and translate into meaningful change for the communities we serve.

Today our team at Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation had the opportunity to partner with Cobleskill Partnership, Inc. for the Village Spring Clean-Up 🌱

Even with full caseloads and busy schedules, giving back to our community will always be a priority. It felt great to step outside the office, roll up our sleeves, and be part of something that makes a visible difference.

We’re proud to serve this community every day—and even prouder to support it in new ways. 💚

We’re proud to share some exciting news—our program recently received a perfect SEMAP score!

SEMAP (Section Eight Management Assessment Program) is a federal performance measurement system that evaluates how well housing programs are managed, including areas like compliance, financial accountability, and service to participants.

This perfect score reflects the hard work and dedication of our team to provide high-quality, reliable housing support to our community.

We’re committed to continuing that standard of excellence for the residents we serve every day.

🏡 Did You Know?

The Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation (SCRPC) proudly manages two USDA senior housing communities, each with 24 one-bedroom apartments designed to support safe, comfortable, independent living.

📍 Located in the Village of Schoharie
📍 Located in the Village of Sharon Springs

These apartments are available to individuals 62+ and/or persons with disabilities who are able to live independently.

Our residents enjoy the privacy of their own apartment while being part of a welcoming community. Independent living means residents manage their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as:
✔ Preparing meals
✔ Personal care and hygiene
✔ Managing medications
✔ Housekeeping and laundry
✔ Moving safely around their home

To help residents maintain their independence, outside supports such as home health aides and visiting care services are welcome, allowing individuals to receive assistance while continuing to live in their own home.

At SCRPC, we believe independence, dignity, and safe housing matter.

When a soldier finishes their assignment, where do they go?
When a firefighter leaves the station after a long shift, where do they go?
When a police officer takes off the badge at the end of the day, where do they go?

When your child steps off the school bus, where do they go?
When the final whistle blows at the game and everyone heads out, where do they go?
When the workday ends and the running around is finally done, where do we all go?

Home.

Home is where we rest.
Home is where we feel safe.
Home is where life happens.

At Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation (SCRPC), we believe everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.

We are proud to serve Schoharie County with a genuine commitment to strengthening our communities and helping ensure that families, seniors, and individuals have a place to return to at the end of the day — a place that is safe, stable, and truly home.

Because at the end of every journey, everyone deserves somewhere to go home to. 🏡
