FINAL REMINDER: Section 8 Waiting List Closes Tomorrow at 4:00 PM! 🚨

This is a reminder that the Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list will officially close tomorrow, Friday, September 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Important Deadline Information:

Strict Cutoff: Any applications submitted after 4:00 PM tomorrow will be automatically rejected.

Online Portal: You can still submit your application online through our secure portal at www.schohariecountyrpc.com by navigating to Programs > Rental Assistance Program.

In-Office Support: Walk-in assistance with the online portal is available at our office (597 East Main St, Cobleskill, NY) tomorrow, Friday, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

If you need a reasonable accommodation due to a disability or have questions, please contact our office as soon as possible at (518) 234-7604 ext. 105. As a reminder we can not answer questions via DM or comments, please contact the office with any questions.

The Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list will officially open tomorrow, Monday, August 31, 2026, at 8:00 AM. The list will remain open for one week only, closing on Friday, September 4 at 4:00 PM.

For your convenience, we are offering an online application portal. Please be assured that our online system is fully encrypted and secure to protect your personal information. Applications are timestamped and processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Apply Online:

Visit our website at www.schohariecountyrpc.com

Navigate to the Programs tab.

Select Rental Assistance Program.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the online application (the link will go live exactly at 8:00 AM tomorrow).

Important Notice: Only applications submitted through our website on or after opening day will be accepted. Previously downloaded paper applications will not be accepted.

In-Person Assistance & Accommodations:
If you need help navigating the online portal, walk-in assistance is available at our office located at 597 East Main St, Cobleskill, NY. Staff will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If these hours do not work for you, please call us prior to the list closing to set up support.

🐝 We had some unexpected visitors at the office today! 🐝

A few yellow jackets stopped by to see what we had to offer. Unfortunately for them, while we’re dedicated to helping with housing needs throughout the county, yellow jacket housing is not currently one of the services we provide.

A HUGE thank you to Ideal Pest Management for not only keeping up with our monthly service, but also coming to our rescue today and taking care of our uninvited guests!

We’ll stick to helping people… and leave the yellow jackets to the professionals! 🐝🏠

The Schoharie County Rural Preservation Corporation is expanding our network for upcoming county-wide housing repair grants. We're looking for dedicated professionals who believe in high standards and quality craftsmanship.

MWBE and Section 3 contractors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Insurance Coverage: General liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate.

Workers’ Compensation: Proof of coverage in accordance with New York State requirements.
