It was an incredible honor to compete in the 2026 Michigan State Championship. This was only the second State Championship in our team's history. Although luck was not on our side, we had a great time representing Clio and celebrating all of the hard work leading up to the event. From representing our favorite drink on Thursday, to a wonderful visit from Representative Matthew Bierlein on Friday, to cheering on our friends during playoffs, we had a great time. We're excited to keep working during the offseason to make the next year better than ever. Stay tuned, we'll have more exciting events taking place, and maybe even our first offseason event... we may not be done with Rebuilt just yet! Thank you for keeping up with our team, and good luck to those competing at Worlds!

Hello greater Clio community! Following the outstanding success of our season, we have qualified for the State Championship! This means we're on to the next phase, fundraising. We will be hosting another World Famous Bake Sale this Sunday, April 12th, from 9am-4pm (or whenever supplies run out). We hope to see you there!

Last weekend we had the wonderful opportunity to compete at the FIM District Livonia Event! Through trials and tribulations we ended up 11th after qualification matches against some very tough competition. We became the captains of alliance 7 where we partnered with our incredible alliance mates Team 123 - Cosmos and Team 6914 - Retro5ive. With this alliance we were able to pull off a 4th place finish! And for the second time since 2018 (and second time this year!) we won an award! This time the Team Spirit award, a testament to the hard work of our marketing team and the spirit of all the students that radiate energy. We'll see you again on April 16th when we take on the Michigan State Championship for the second time in our team's history!

We had an INCREDIBLE time at our competition last weekend at the FIM District Midland Event!

Great place, great people, and great competition. Team 5533 ended up in 4th place (out of 39 teams) after qualification matches, picked by the 3rd alliance captain for playoffs, and came 4th in playoffs! Thank you to Team 3357 - COMETS and Team 9661 - Huskie Steam for being wonderful alliance partners and helping us pick up a few playoff wins!

And the other highlight of our competition....

We won the Autonomous Award!!! This is Team 5533's first ever Machine Attribute award, based on the technical accomplishments of our team. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible students. Thank you for the support this year, and we can't wait to be back in action in Livonia on April 2nd & 3rd!

Did you want to help out your local robotics team but aren't sure how? Look no further! We have almost a month left for you to sponsor our team and get your name on our shirts, robot, and more! Donations can be both monetary and/or material, with things like old computer mice, tools, snacks, and more greatly helping us make our way through the season. The deadline for this year is February 14th, so there is plenty of time to make an impact!

On Saturday, we had a blast volunteering at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan! We worked in the reclamation line and sorted nearly 6,200 lbs of food and items that will go to those in need!

Earlier this week, we had our annual Christmas party before going on break until after the New Year 🎄We look forward to enjoying time off before the inevitable chaos that the robotics season brings!

On Saturday, we had the incredible opportunity to attend another programming workshop hosted by Hemlock's Gray Matter. We learned how to properly generate drive train code and how to implement path planner, with them even helping us debug strange issues! A HUGE thank you to those that hosted and helped out, we had a blast, learned a ton, and are looking forward to applying what we learned in just over a month!

On Friday, some of our students had a blast volunteering with Clio Area Educational Foundation - CAEF to help run Turkey Bowling at Clio's Candle Lite Nite!

Another HUGE Thank You to Hemlock's Gray Matter for their incredible workshops teaching us about CAD and 3D Printing!

They taught us a lot about how to be successful, from designing gearboxes to tips on how to use 3D printed parts within our robots. They even sent us home with a printer to learn on! We can't wait to use what we learned in our upcoming projects 🤠

On Saturday, we had the incredibly opportunity to attend a programming workshop teaching us basics of using libraries and tuning PID! These skills are sure to enhance our programming capabilities as we prepare for the upcoming season.

A MASSIVE thank you to all of the parents and students who baked and volunteered their time and to the incredible community we have that donated to our cause! We raised over $1,200 during our bake sale today that will be used to support our team!
