Sampson High School Alumni Association, Inc. This page is designed to unite former students, families, and friends of Sampson High School in Clinton, NC

Sampson High School served as the high school for African-American students in Clinton, NC during the years of segregation. In 1969, its doors closed to the last graduating class. As Clinton City schools began to integrate, it continued to serve as a middle school for several years. The beginning of the first decade of the organization was the outgrowth of planning sessions by a dedicated committe

e in February 1973. The key objective was to locate as many Sampson High School graduates, teachers, and friends as possible. Public relations trips to Clinton, NC, New York City, New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA were made to outline details for our first reunion which was held in Washington, DC. Scholarship assistance to students seeking post-secondary education is the cornerstone of our existence. Over $500,000.00 has been awarded in scholarships over the years. We are chartered in North Carolina as a non-profit organization. Chapters meet annually during the second weekend in August for a reunion and fellowship of family and friends.
