**If you’re city employee, please do not share this, we can’t afford to lose any more good people!**
Tonight’s city council meeting ended abruptly before public comment could be given—despite public comment being customary and listed on the agenda. Many citizens came prepared to speak, only to be denied the opportunity.
Because the mayor and council chose to close the meeting so quickly, our voices were not heard in the room. That leaves us with one option: to share them publicly.
Below is the statement I intended to read on behalf of many residents, business owners, and families who are deeply frustrated by the recent decision to halt the stage project and return $237,500 in state grant funding—despite overwhelming community support.
Transparency matters. Public input matters. And when those avenues are closed, the conversation doesn’t end—it just moves into the public square.
