đOutstanding Community Transformation Award!
This comprehensive award goes to a Main Street program that has achieved a successful, preservation-based downtown revival.
When Main Street Clinton began in 2007, you could fire a cannon down Jefferson Street and hit no one. Today in Olde Towne Clinton, it wouldnât miss. What was once quiet is now a thriving downtown where the iconic brick streets pulse with life, commerce, and connection.
This transformation didnât happen overnight. It is the result of nearly two decades of vision, perseverance, and partnership. Main Street Clinton staff, alongside hundreds of dedicated volunteers, worked tirelessly to reimagine what downtown could be. City leadership and neighboring Mississippi College played a critical role, championing preservation and investing in the districtâs future.
That commitment was put to the test in 2020, when the city fought all the way to the state supreme court to protect two historic propertiesâdemonstrating that Olde Towneâs story was worth saving. Today, with 94% occupancy, Olde Towne Clinton stands as a powerful example of community-driven transformation.
