Before God gave Isaiah a mission, He changed what Isaiah could see.

Isaiah saw God as holy. He saw himself honestly: "Woe is me!" Then he saw his purpose: "Here am I; send me!" (Isaiah 6:5, 8)

God's glory gives us sight in a deceptive world, clear enough to reject any gospel that ignores the poor or wounds the broken, and to embrace the one built on love, justice, and mercy.

Most of us default to one side.

Some of us are truth people. We say the honest thing, we say it fast, and we are usually right about the facts and wrong about the temperature. We call it integrity. The people around us call it something else.

Others are love people. We keep the peace and smooth the edges so carefully that the thing that actually needs saying goes unsaid for years while the problem grows roots.

Both feel like virtues from the inside. Neither one grows anybody up.

Say the true thing. Say it kindly. Then stay in the room.

Think about a paperweight on a desk. 👀

It's not decorative. It's not there to impress anybody. It's there because when the wind blows — when the window flies open and everything on that desk is at risk of scattering — the paperweight holds everything down.

That is what God's glory does in a life. 💡

We live in a world obsessed with appearance. Fast fashion. Fast fame. Carefully curated images that look good on the outside but have nothing holding them together on the inside.

Influence without integrity. Success without surrender. A beautiful house that is secretly crumbling from within.

And when the winds come — and they always come — everything scatters. 💔

But here's what Pastor Delman wants you to understand about the glory of God. The Hebrew word for glory — kabod — literally means weight. Substance. Heaviness. 🔥

It is not glitter. It is not religious theater. It is not the feeling you get on a good Sunday morning that fades by Tuesday afternoon.

It is the keel of a ship. The unseen beam that keeps you upright when the storm hits. The paperweight that holds you down when the wind of the world blows hard.

When God puts His glory in you — the winds of criticism may cause you to sway. The storms of grief may rock you. The chaos of an unstable world may shake everything around you.

But you will not scatter. 🙌🏾

Because what is inside you is heavier than what is happening around you.

That's not confidence in yourself. That's the weight of God's presence anchoring your soul.

Ask God for His glory today. Not the shimmer. The substance. 👊🏾

Is your life built to be bought, or built to last? ☁️

Fast fashion, fast fame, curated feeds: our culture has learned to make things look good without making them strong. In Scripture, "glory" means weight, substance. It's what keeps you standing when the storm hits.

Jesus was a guest at dinner when he told his host that the whole guest list was wrong.

Invite the people who cannot repay you, he said. No reciprocity. No networking value. No social return on investment. Just people, welcomed because they are people.

So ask the real question. Who is at your table? Whose voices are in the conversations that shape your community? Who has to be absent for your gathering to stay comfortable?

Anyone can say the door is open. The seating chart tells the truth.

The enemy has tried a lot of things to stop God's people. 👀

He's tried chains. He's tried fire. He's tried exile. He's tried Pharaoh and he's tried Nebuchadnezzar.

But his most effective weapon has never been external.

His most effective weapon is getting YOU to do the work FOR him. 💔

Because the most dangerous form of oppression is the kind you do to yourself.

When you start to believe you don't deserve better. When you start to agree with the systems that said you were worth less. When you pick up the music Babylon wrote and start singing it about yourself. When you turn the violence inward. When you scam your neighbor instead of standing with them. When you give up on the dream because you've been disappointed so many times that hope itself feels like a liability. 😳

That's not freedom. That's the enemy winning without even having to show up. 🔥

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to let Babylon write their inner narrative. They refused to let the king's decree become their confession. They refused to let the size of the furnace determine the size of their faith.

Because they understood something the enemy never wanted them to know — 💡

Hope is the most revolutionary thing a oppressed person can possess.

When you have hope you organize. When you have hope you rebuild. When you have hope you stand up straight in the middle of a system designed to make you bow.

And when you lose hope? You finish the job the enemy started. 👊🏾

So today — refuse to be your own oppressor. Refuse to extinguish the hope God lit inside of you. Refuse to bow to the narrative that says your best days are behind you.

The fire is real. But so is the fourth man standing in it with you. 🙌🏾

Don't kill your hope. It's the one thing Babylon was never able to take.

The Hebrew young men knew God could deliver them from the furnace. They also said that even if He didn't, they still would not bow. (Daniel 3:17-18)

That's faith that isn't transactional. We won't bow whether the breakthrough comes or not, because our identity is already secured in God.

Babylon had a lot of power. 👀

It could change your name. Nebuchadnezzar did that.
It could change your location. He did that too.
It could change your title, your position, your zip code, your salary.
It could build the biggest golden statue you've ever seen and surround it with the finest musicians in the empire.

Babylon could control the playlist. 🎵

But it could NOT control the praise list. 🔥

Because there are some things that live so deep inside a person that no king can reach them. No decree can touch them. No furnace can burn them out.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood in front of that statue — the whole empire bowing around them — and something on the INSIDE of them refused to move. 💡

That's praise. That's worship. That's an allegiance so rooted in who God is that no external pressure can uproot it.

The system can program your environment. It can flood your feed. It can make its music loud and its idols shiny and its rewards seem worth it.

But it cannot program your praise. 👊🏾

It cannot tell your spirit who to worship. It cannot silence the song God put inside of you before you were ever born.

Let Babylon run the playlist. 🙌🏾

You run the praise list.

And watch what God does when His people refuse to bow.
