Harrison, in partnership with the Coalition for Stronger Communities and Project Give Back, is hosting a FREE District 9 Thanksgiving Food Box Giveaway on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at Frederick Douglass High School, 8000 Croom Rd., Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Each vehicle will receive one food box on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Boxes will be placed directly into the trunks of vehicles. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to give back to the community!

Antioch Baptist Church of Clinton is hosting a FREE Voter Registration Weekend on Saturday, September 28th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will take place at Antioch Baptist Church of Clinton, 9107 Pineview Lane, Clinton, Maryland 20735. Constituents can register to vote, update their voter information, check their voter status, and receive important information about the candidates. Volunteers will also be available to answer frequently asked questions. Get ready for Election Day on November 5th and make sure your voice is heard!

Attention, District 9 residents! Please note that the waste collection time has changed to 5:00 AM, effective from July 15 through September 30. To ensure the safety and well-being of our sanitation technicians during extreme temperatures, the Department of the Environment has adjusted the pickup time. Be sure to check for any schedule changes and place your waste on the curb in time. If your trash is missed, report it to PGC311 through the app, by dialing 3-1-1, or by visiting www.pgc311.com .
