🌿 How We Will Create a Shenendehowa SEPTA
*A step‑by‑step look at the process*
**Step 1: Build an Interest List**
We are gathering names of parents, caregivers, educators, and community members who support forming a Shen SEPTA.
👉 Please fill out the interest form so we know you’re with us.
**Step 2: Hold an Informational Meeting**
We will host an open informational meeting to explain what SEPTA is, answer questions, and hear what matters most to Shen families.
**Step 3: Form a Founding Group**
From the interest list, we will invite interested parents and caregivers to be part of a small founding group to move the process forward.
**Step 4: Work With New York State PTA**
The founding group will work with New York State PTA to:
- Draft and finalize bylaws for Shen SEPTA
- Complete required paperwork and charter documents
- Make sure we meet all PTA rules and standards
**Step 5: Elect SEPTA Officers**
Once the bylaws are approved, we will hold a meeting to nominate and elect officers (such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary), following PTA guidelines.
**Step 6: Receive the SEPTA Charter**
After officers are elected and documents are submitted, New York State PTA will review everything. When approved, Shenendehowa SEPTA will receive its official charter and become an active PTA unit.
**Step 7: Begin SEPTA Programs and Meetings**
With the charter in place, Shen SEPTA will:
- Hold regular meetings open to all members
- Offer workshops, support, and resources for families
- Partner with Shen schools to support students with special needs district‑wide
