Thanks to Sonya Morton, the Victim Services Coordinator with the City of Clemson Police Department, CCDC has blue and silver pinwheels in our garden beds in front of our building. They are used during Child Abuse Prevention Month to symbolize hope and remind us that all children deserve to grow up in safe and nurturing homes. April is devoted to focusing on preventing child abuse and promoting child safety nationwide. Our blue and silver pinwheels may look really pretty twirling in the wind, but they serve to help us remember that protecting children is a year-round commitment, and participation helps strengthen community efforts to prevent child abuse and support healthy development.
