🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR KRISHNA 🚨

From the streets of Detroit to an overcrowded city shelter, and now to a lonely boarding kennel... Krishna has survived it all. While she is safe with us at Peace Love and Paws Rescue, boarding is no place for a dog who just wants to be part of a family💔

Krishna has been in boarding for weeks now, and the loud, stressful environment is starting to take a toll on her. She is confused, stressed, and desperately needs a couch to curl up on and a family to call her own.

Despite everything she has been through, her loving spirit hasn’t changed. Krishna walks beautifully on a leash, loves every single toy she can get her paws on, and is ready to flood your life with affection.

About Krishna:
🐾 Age/Size: Estimated 2 years old & 43 lbs of pure love
🐾 Health: Fully spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date (UTD) on all vaccines
🐾 House Manners: Doing amazing with holding her potty to go outside and is crate trained
🐾 Friends: Dog-friendly given proper introductions (Cats unknown)
🐾 Skills: Knows “SIT”, very eager to please, and extremely gentle when taking treats.

Blueberry Toaster Strudel has had quite the life.

For six months, she lived under the porch of an abandoned house in Detroit. She was scared of people, because when you're trying to survive on the streets, trusting someone isn't exactly high on the priority list.

She even had puppies under that porch. Her babies were rescued, but Strudel stayed behind and kept surviving on her own.

Then, on a freezing night in December, rescuers finally earned enough of her trust to get her to safety.

And apparently, Strudel's first thought upon entering a warm, safe home was:

“Wait. You mean I can live INSIDE? And there are COUCHES?”

Because this girl went from terrified street dog to professional snuggler almost overnight.

Today, Strudel is a 55-pound house hippo who believes personal space is merely a suggestion. She wants to be next to you, preferably touching you, and ideally occupying approximately 87% of the couch.

She's potty trained, crate trained, knows how to sit, loves kiddos and does well with calm dogs. Cats, however, are not currently on her friend list.

She's also completed heartworm treatment and healed from an old leg injury, likely from being hit by a car, that she somehow survived without anyone there to help her.

And after everything she's been through, Strudel has no bitterness. Just love.

She's spent enough time surviving. She wants to spend the rest of time left LOVIN'.

She's ready for the really important things in life: a couch, a person to love, and absolutely no respect for personal space.

🍑 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - MEET PEACHES 🍑

Meet Peaches!!! Peaches is the ultimate “100-mile-per-hour couch potato”—ready to sprint into your heart one minute and snooze by your side the next! Though she has only been in our care for a short time, this sweet, friendly girl is already proving to be a certified lover who considers cuddles and kisses an absolute must.

Peaches loves being close to her humans and happily sleeps in bed with you at night, but she is also fully crate-trained and remains completely calm and quiet when left alone in her crate. When it comes to house training, Peaches is fully potty trained. She is a smart girl who already knows “sit,” “come,” and a partial “leave it,” so she will easily polish up these puppy habits with continued training.

Peaches perfectly matches her energy to yours and has plenty of athletic potential, making her an excellent running or hiking partner. She loves playing with her toys, going for walks, and running, though once the fun is over, it takes her just a few minutes to wind down before she fully commits to lounging. Peaches is a fantastic car rider who stays completely calm on trips. She is incredibly friendly with strangers and seems to really like kids, though she might need a little supervision around toddlers just to ensure her enthusiasm doesn’t accidentally knock them over. On her walks, she has been completely uninterested in cats. She walks well on a leash. If you are looking for a loyal, adventurous, and deeply affectionate shadow, Peaches is ready to meet you!

🖤🐾 NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY🐾🖤

Today is National Black Dog Day, a day created to shine a light on something shelters and rescues know all too well: Black Dog Syndrome.

Black dogs are often overlooked in shelters. They can be harder to photograph, their faces may not stand out as quickly while someone scrolls through adoption photos, and for reasons we’ll never understand, they can simply get passed by.

They wait.

And sometimes, they wait for a very, very long time.

We have multiple black dogs who need homes.

Let' start with Luna! Luna is 11 months old, german shephard mix and loves dogs and people.

Sugar Bean, shes a sweet girl, who loves a cuddle and thinks shes a 10lb lap dog. Good with calmer dogs and older kids.

Next is 10 month old Pinnochio. He loves, loves dogs, great with people, housetrained and all sorts of perfection, yet, he still waits.

Spider is a sweet and gentle, perfect gentleman. 4 years old, over all the annoying puppy stuff and just wants to be cuddling with you. Good with dogs, cats and dont see any issues with kids.

Our newest gorgeous black dog is Sadie. 6 months old, German Shephard mix. All sorts of puppy energy, loves dogs and people.

So on National Black Dog Day, we’re asking you to SEE our dogs. Share them, talk about them, tell people about black dog syndrome and highlight the need to get these dogs into forever homes, they all deserve it.

Lauren gives so much of herself to this rescue and never stops showing up for the animals who need her. Rescue isn’t just something Lauren does. She lives it and pours her whole heart into it. Behind every animal saved, every difficult decision, every late night and every happy ending is someone who never stops showing up and fighting for the animals who need her.

From the hard days to the happy endings, she’s always there giving it her all. 💖

💙Sweet Senior Alert💙

Sarti is a gentle senior girl with a heart full of quiet love, and she's ready to spend her golden years curled up beside someone special.

Sarti's favorite activity is simple: being close to you. She's a world-class snuggle buddy who would happily spend the whole day nestled in bed beside her human. When she drifts off to sleep, her little tongue pokes out and she snores softly, and it's every bit as adorable as it sounds.

She's a calm, low-energy lady who doesn't need long walks or games of fetch. A soft bed, a warm lap, and maybe a ride in a doggy stroller for some fresh air are all she needs to be content. Sarti has no teeth left, so your shoes and furniture are completely safe, and she has never once been heard barking.

Sarti gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She loves cuddling up with her foster brother at night, and she's content being home with her canine pals when her person is away. She has shown no interest in cats and has a low prey drive. She hasn't met children yet, but her gentle nature suggests she'd do well with calm, respectful kids.

She's shy with new people at first but friendly once she settles in and knows that you are safe. A few things her new family should know: Sarti needs to wear a diaper, as she's no longer able to hold her bladder. She sleeps in bed with her foster family, and she isn't crate trained.

She feels safest in familiar surroundings and prefers to be near her person, so a home where someone is around often, or where she has doggy companions, would suit her best.

Sarti may not be the most active or playful pup, but she has so much love to give. She deserves a soft place to land, a patient heart, and someone who will keep her comfortable and cherished for the rest of her days.
