PICNIC KICKS OFF 250th USA CELEBRATION
Friends old and new from all over the lake met at Higgins Ferry pavilion to share food, fun, and fellowship. Thanks to Jim and Johnye Woodrow and so many others who decorated the pavilion, set up heavy tables and chairs and then removed them after the event, bought and brought delicious food, and set up fans to keep us comfortable. It truly takes a village to pull off an event that seems effortless, but actually requires a lot of work by so many, but draws us all closer together. Lake Mitchell is truly a special place!

PICNIC SATURDAY!
See you Saturday at Higgins Ferry for food, fun and fellowship for everyone on the lake! We are under a covered pavilion, so come rain or shine! Bring a side dish or a dessert and HOBO will provide the meat, drinks and utensils.

POKER RUN REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
We are excited to announce that the 2026 Poker Run Registration is now open for the big event on June 20. We have lots of exciting things planned for this year’s event as we honor the 250th birthday of America. The online registration form has been completely redesigned. Registration this year is $35 per player tally sheet and all registrations should be completed online by June 17. This will give the Poker Run team time to prepare the player packets. Make your plans to be a part of this very special event on Lake Mitchell while supporting a great cause of local scholarships and teacher grants.

PICNIC IS NEXT SATURDAY
Plan to join us at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30 for the annual lake-wide picnic at Higgins Ferry. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. HOBO will provide the meat, drinks, plates and utensils. This is a great opportunity to meet friends new and old from all over the lake. What a great community spirit we have at Lake Mitchell!

AREA 9 CELEBRATES MEMORIAL DAY WITH A BANG!
Walnut Creek residents gathered at the home of Pam and Kevin Sims to celebrate the holiday weekend with great fellowship and food. After a brief meeting about upcoming lake events, the guests were treated to a brief U.S. history lesson, followed by the firing of a historical canon by Mickey Bates. The last picture is a video of the blast!!!
