Chris Holmes from the Oklahoma Railway Museum talked about the history of the railway. His love of the history of all the different companies and their tracks was very informative.
They do special ride events around Easter and Halloween along with the Polar Express rides starting in a few weeks.
Take your kids or grandkids out and check out this wonderful museum.

Today Rotarians helped put labels in the October PreK books and the dictionary’s that are given to each third grader. The PreK labels have a place for each student to write their name. The labels in the dictionary has the Four Way Test also.
Now our club members will be out delivering the dictionary’s and reading to the PreK students when they deliver the books.
Education projects are a key part of how we try and help our communities. These books will go to the schools in Choctaw/Nicoma Park, Harrah, Jones and Luther.

Healing Horses. Helping Heroes.

Tonight two members of this group came and had open discussion with our club on what they are doing for others.

Hoof & Hero Sanctuary rescues neglected and at-risk horses. They then use the powerful bond between horse and human to help individuals with physical, emotional and psychological challenges.
They help veterans and first responders. Check them out at hoofandhero.org

This was a great event that some of our members helped with.

A $15,000 grant helped bring together city employees, schools and community groups for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed-building event.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build Across America event was a busy place to be this morning. Three of our Rotarians and a couple grandkids helped sand, assemble, staple and move boards around to stations. It was a busy place with 60 beds to be made.
Lumber was cut and holes drilled before volunteers sanded and assembled the pieces. Then parts were stained and branded before being loaded onto trailers.
On another date they will deliver these beds to needy kids so they aren’t sleeping on the floor. Items that are also needed is sheet sets, pillows, blankets or quilts. Check out the below link
