All right friends. We don’t ask for much other than post shares and loving homes for kiddoes usually but we are getting close to needing food for our rescues. This is how much food we have right now. These shelves are usually well stocked. We have been partnering with other rescues and utilizing discounted and donated resources but EVERYONE is out of food or low on funds. We are currently feeding 18 rescue dogs (3 puppies, 13 adults, 2 seniors) and 5 cats. We raised enough money during our friendsgiving bingo event to make it a couple months but that will go quick. We use what brands of food we can get through donations and other resources but with heavy budgeting it seems the 48lb bag of any flavor of Purina Dog Chow at Sam's Club for $27 per bag is the largest and most cost effective food that won’t upset tummies and last the longest. They sell 44lb bags for $25 at Walmart as well. We go through two large bags a week on just adults. Any and every bit of food that anyone would like to donate would be so greatly appreciated by the rescue but more so by the rescue dogs and cats that depend on us to take care of them. Sookie is one happy girl with her nice warm sweatshirt on yesterday and today. She is one of our senior kiddoes that will most likely live her life here with us and needs a little extra warmth from this cold. She is up for adoption to the right fit and this gurl love love loves her people. She is very bouncy but has an old leg injury that we keep an eye on and help her with anti inflammatories when it gets too aggravated from her activity level. She has a bit of an old lady attitude with other dogs but isn’t a fighter. More of a grumpy “leave me alone” announcement to others every now and again. We love her to pieces and glad she is happy with us because of the amazing regular donations of coats and jackets, blankets, cleaning supplies, food and treats from our amazing supporters and followers. We couldn’t do it without you and we just can’t thank you enough.
