Train Mountain Railroad Membership is reasonably priced and open to anyone interested in railroading. Members may bring guests to the railroad.

Train Mountain is the world's largest model railroad ... over 36 miles of 7.5 gauge track on 2205 acres of pine forest spanning 2 miles by 4 miles near Chiloquin, Oregon. Train Mountain Railroad preserves the history of railroading by providing educational tours describing exhibits while operating a railroad in miniature employing “real life” safety procedures during an interactive program. Train Mountain operates restricted access tracks on which members can operate their personally owned trains or club owned trains. The Klamath & Western Railroad adjacent to Train Mountain gives rides to the public every Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Friends of Train Mountain is a group that works to build more track at Train Mountain. Railroad Institute is developing a railroad education program. These organizations work together to make this World Class Facility everyone's favorite railroad. We invite you to get involved and have more fun. Only by seeing and experiencing the “World’s Largest Hobby Railroad” first hand will you be able to believe what Train Mountain has to offer.

Are you thinking of visiting Train Mountain on October 21, 2026? PLEASE READ ON!

Members and visitors: We're sorry to say that our property will be closed on October 21 to facilitate removal of a large dead pine tree. The tree is threatening our facilities and has become a risk to our visitors, members and staff.

But it's just that one day! Otherwise, we'll be open for our normal winter hours. See TrainMountain.org/visit/ for details.

And now the "work" week portion of Train Mountain's last 2026 member meet week is done. And when the work is done... we PLAY! Members will now spend the weekend running trains, enjoying the facility and hanging out with friends.

Visitors: This weekend is a great time to come by if you want to see a lot of the member's 1/8 scale trains out an running around our layout.

This team of volunteers at the Fall Colors work week is just wrapping up our largest track project of the year: Replacing all the track panels in the Fuel Yard.

The old panels, constructed years ago with wooden ties, were no longer serviceable. After a lot of shoveling and kneeling in ballast, lifting and hammering, those old track sections have been replaced with plastic ties. Shout out to the hard-working volunteers from the Wonder Bread Crew!🚂

Visitors: this weekend may be the last chance to get a tour on one of our trains. But we'll be open all winter for walking tours.
