Addison Children's Center (ACC), a Metropolitan Family Services' (MFS) Early Head Start program serving children ages 0-2, was thrilled to host Addison School District 4 Superintendent, Dr. Nick Sutton, for a visit last week. Dr. Sutton had an opportunity to tour the ACC classrooms and read the book "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" to the children! Addison Children's Center, located at 121 E. Fullerton, is a welcoming and engaging space that fosters learning and growth for our littlest learners, supporting the strengths and needs of every child.
Addison Children's Center has been an integral part of the Addison early learning community for over a decade due to a robust partnership between Addison School District 4 and MFS. The Addison Children's Center, along with MFS' Head Start program for children ages 3-5 located at Army Trail Elementary, are both housed in donated space in Addison School District 4. The opening of ACC in 2016 positioned Addison as one of the first communities in DuPage County to offer center-based early learning through a partnership between a nonprofit early childhood education provider and a school district. MFS is so grateful for the continued collaboration with Addison School District 4, which will help ensure that children receive the early learning services they need to enter kindergarten ready to learn and thrive!
