• Environment: NRC’s Environment Committee is currently focused on two projects, flooding solutions at the home and neighborhood levels and tree planting in parks and parkways.
• Arts and Culture: The objective of NRC’s Art & Culture Committee is to collaborate with artists and the community to enhance offerings in our area. NRC is engaged in a long term project with the Chicago Park District and Northeastern Illinois University in creating a sculpture park for the communities around Ronan Park.

Join the Parent Mentor
Program // ¡Únete al Parent Mentor Program (PMP)!

The Parent Mentor Program (PMP) is hosted at four local elementary schools to deliver essential academic and social-emotional support to nearly 700 students each year. By volunteering in classrooms, parent mentors help address equity gaps while gaining teacher mentorship and weekly professional development in instructional practices and leadership. The program creates direct career pathways, enabling many parents to earn teaching credentials and secure part- or full-time employment within their children’s schools.

Last week we got to experience the music of Naüvoo at our third Lot Jams performance of the season!

Naüvoo is a Chicago-based rock band blending classic rock and Latin influences, with music inspired by Hombres G and The Beatles. As promised, they delivered a high energy performance that captured every attendees attention and got people dancing. Thank you to the band for putting on a great show!

We also wanted to thank not only Staxx Deals Chicago for allowing us to host a concert in their parking lot, but also for providing perhaps the best kids activity table that we have ever seen AND limited edition goodie bags for attendees. The night was also a success due to Bellonas Pizza | Chicago-Style Pizza popping up and keeping folks fed!
