Congrats on the nomination! The Coleman Foundation is proud to partner with Little City and others in the space who have contributed to the creation of the IDD Navigator, a free, public directory of IL service providers for individuals, families and providers seeking services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Governor JB Pritzker has proclaimed August as IDD Navigator month in Illinois! IDD Navigator is an amazing resource for people with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities and their families! It's a free, statewide resource bank of services and support for people with IDD in Illinois -- a public directory designed to point you to service providers, support resources, government agencies, advocacy tools, and more. If you don’t know where to turn, or are having trouble navigating the state system on your own, IDD Navigator is here for you.

The IDD Navigator was created by our friends at Little City

Chicago Latines in Philanthropy (CLIP) is thrilled to share that our very own CLIPer, Nora Garcia, has been named the next Executive Director of The Coleman Foundation — one of the most respected private foundations in Chicago with a legacy of bold, community-rooted investment.

Nora is a proud daughter of Chicago, a passionate champion for health equity, and a visionary philanthropic leader. In her time at the Healthy Communities Foundation, she has advanced community-driven strategies that have uplifted Latine communities across our region. Her transition into this new role is a powerful testament to her dedication, brilliance, and the growing leadership of Latines across philanthropy.

“For more than 70 years, The Coleman Foundation has supported individuals and families in the Chicago region, helping them improve their health and well-being by removing barriers and increasing access to resources,” said Garcia. “The opportunity to center community, values, and responsiveness is timely in this moment. I look forward to collaborating with our grantee partners, staff, and board to deepen the legacy of The Coleman Foundation in strengthening the local ecosystem of organizations and leaders.”

The Coleman Foundation, with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Health, and Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, is gaining not only a new leader — but a connector, convener, and advocate for equity and impact. We are incredibly proud that one of our own will be at the helm of such transformative work.
At CLIP, we believe in celebrating our gente loudly and with joy. Today, we honor this milestone in Nora’s career, and recommit ourselves to building spaces where Latine leaders rise, thrive, and lead with heart.

¡Felicidades, Nora! We are rooting for you and cheering you on every step of the way.
