We know that connection is key to reducing risk taking behaviors among youth. Taking the time to show up and praise/encourage your child in their activities is a top protective factor - and increases those important family bonds.

Take some time during the summer season to participate in some activities with your child that they enjoy. The opportunity to praise/encourage will present itself all on it's own!

This year's theme was 'Healthy Hobbies' and our winners did a fantastic job highlighting their favorite healthy hobbies that better their mental health and they are able to enjoy because they have made the decision to not use drugs or alcohol.

In case you missed our post a few weeks ago, we are thrilled to be the June recipient of the Kimberton Whole Foods 'Rounding up at the Register' program for their Eagleview location.

This past Saturday, CTC was able to set up a table outside the Eagleview location to chat with customers and share more information about all that we do in the local community.

"I'm so BOREDDDD."

^This sentence is equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for parents, are we right?!

As we head into summer, many parents will hear this phrase from their children. Being bored isn't actually a bad thing for kids - it can help them utilize creativity, problem solving, and using their imagination! Mindful.org shares some ideas that we, as parents, can use to encourage a bored child to think outside of the box.
