Stop by and pickup an application. Our Social Quarters is "CASH ONLY" Post 56 is one of the oldest American Legion Posts in the Nation. Founded in 1919 and receiving its Charter in 1922, the original Post was located in Cape Charles, Va. The Post burned down in 1961 destroying all Post history, military memorabilia and artifacts. The Post languished for years until a handful of veterans acquired t

he present structure in 2006. Post 56 now boasts over 220 members who served our country in a time of war.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Pat Milton yesterday, the 16th of June. Pat was a long time member and officer of Auxiliary Unit 56. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Marvin, and their entire family.
