Faith & Family Night is coming to Sahalee Park!

Friday, September 18: something for the whole family.

We would love to see Madras out there together. We'll save you a spot!

Informing and transforming our community with Christian compassion doesn't happen in one night. So Pearson's Crossing isn't a shelter bed. It's a home for women and children in Madras.

A place to unpack, sleep well, and start figuring out what comes next with people who are still there in the morning.

Some women stay a few months. Some stay longer. All of them get the same thing: a safe place and someone in their corner.

🚧 LINC Resource Center Update 🚧

We wanted to share a quick update with our community. LINC is currently under construction! As is often the case with renovations, the work is taking a little longer than we originally expected. We are looking forward to reopening and welcoming everyone back into an improved space.

In the meantime, please note:

~Our former LINC page is no longer accessible.

~All LINC updates, questions, and contact should now come through this Faith Based Network page.

~Our LINC phones have been down during construction. The current phone greeting may say that our mailbox is full. This is not correct and is related to the phone issues we are experiencing.

~If you need to reach LINC, please send us a message through this page while we work to get our phone service restored.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete the renovations. We know the delay and phone issues can be frustrating, and we appreciate your grace as we work through them.

We’re excited about what’s ahead for LINC and look forward to sharing reopening information as soon as we have it! 💛

Informing and transforming our community with Christian compassion.

At the Madras Shelter, that looks like a couple of hours and a willingness to show up.

You don't need a special skill. Our volunteers will tell you the rest takes care of itself.

Every little thing helps. Find out how to get involved at jcfbn.org/shelter-

"Waking up KNOWING God has something for me to give on this day.”

That’s how Scott Williams describes a good day... and we’re excited to welcome him as the new Manager of Jordan’s Crossing Men’s Home!

Scott has called Madras home for most of his life. Many in our community know him from behind a grocery store register. Now, he’s stepping into a role where his own experiences, faith, and heart for others can make a difference in the lives of men working toward lasting change.

Scott knows the journey of recovery personally and has spoken at churches and events, sharing a message of hope and transformation. But if you’ve been around Jefferson County for a while, you may be more used to seeing him on a stage with an instrument in his hands.

Scott came to FBN with a simple desire to give back what was once given to him.

We’re grateful to have Scott leading and walking alongside the men at Jordan’s Crossing as they grow in faith, responsibility, and a new direction for their lives.

Glad you're here Scott!

Metolius churches gathered at Church in the Park in Metolius this past Sunday. Our very own FBN Executive Director, Truett Shilling, led everyone in worship. One morning, a lot of different congregations, same grass, same songs. There were baptisms too!

This is the whole idea behind the Faith Based Network Nothing we do happens alone. The shelter, LINC, the homes, all of it runs on churches in this county deciding to show up together. How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! (PS 133)

“It saved my life.”

That's how one of the women described the day she moved into Pearson's Crossing.

Pearson's Crossing is a transitional home in Madras where women and children find a safe place to land, and the support to build what comes next. Housing, community, discipleship, and people who show up every day.

The women in this video said it better than we could.

Want to be part of it? Volunteer opportunities and ways to give are at jcfbn.org.

Update: tomorrow's mobile dental clinic at the Madras shelter is cancelled.

Wildfire smoke has settled over the area, and the air just isn't safe for an outdoor clinic right now. The health of everyone who'd have come out matters more than the schedule.

And to every firefighter out working right now, thank you. We're holding our neighbors close, and praying for the safety of everyone affected by the fires.

Can something as simple as a haircut really change someone's life? Megan Turner says yes.

She's been cutting hair for eight years. A few years ago she started bringing that skill to the Madras Shelter, free of charge.
A haircut isn't housing. It's not a meal or a bed for the night. But it's confidence walking into a job interview. It's a small piece of dignity on a hard week. And at the shelter, those small pieces add up fast.

That's what keeps the Madras Shelter running: people like Megan showing up with whatever they have to give, whether that's a skill, an hour, or a few dollars.

"Everything adds up and everything makes a difference," Megan says.

See how you can make a difference today at jcfbn.org.

Some of the food on our shelter tables starts right here, in the garden. Linda and Gus tend this plot all season, and everything that grows goes straight into meals for our guests. A big thank you to the garden managers who keep it growing.
