🙏 Please Pray for Bonnaroo Outreach 2026 🙏

Today, our SFOI team has begun outreach at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. We are grateful for the opportunity to share the Gospel and ask for your prayers as teams minister throughout the weekend.

Please pray:
✅ For continued liberty and favor as we preach Christ.
✅ That the message of Christ crucified will be heard clearly despite the noise and distractions.
✅ That many festival attendees will repent, believe, and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
✅ That Christians attending the festival will be encouraged to stand alongside and support the outreach.
✅ That God alone would receive all the glory through every conversation, interaction, and proclamation of His truth.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer. Your prayers are a vital part of this mission.

"Technological distractions can sometimes serve as anti-sacraments — conduits not of God's invasive grace into our world, but portals by which we make our escape."

Today's devotional is a serious theological essay on liturgy, technology, and the age of distraction. It engages with Paul Kingsnorth, Ross Douthat, and Augustine.

Not a quick read. But worth one.

Every September, 400,000 people walk the 30 blocks of the Virginia Beach oceanfront for the Neptune Festival — one of Virginia's longest-running celebrations, now in its 52nd year.

Last year, our team at Neptune was 2 evangelists.
Two men, against 400,000 visitors, across thirty blocks of boardwalk.

Jason Sleichter is leading the team again this year. He's looking for thirteen more. Not a typo — thirteen. We have never sent fewer evangelists to a bigger crowd than we did at Neptune last year, and Jason is determined that doesn't happen again.

If you're in Virginia, the Carolinas, or anywhere within driving distance of Virginia Beach — and you've ever wondered what it looks like to be one of the few people in a crowd of 400,000 willing to start a Gospel conversation — September 25-26 is your answer.

Is this the year you go?

Every November, the Canadian Football League plays its championship — the Grey Cup. This year it's in Winnipeg, where the average temperature in mid-November is around -10°C.

Most ministries wouldn't think about working a sporting event in that kind of cold.

Last year our team did. Bill Adams, Daniel Bayssassew, Errick Beecham, Stirling Long, Wells O'Henry — bundled up in winter coats, preaching the Gospel on the streets of Winnipeg during the Grey Cup Festival, with locals and fans bundled up alongside them.

They're going back November 13-16. We're looking to send more.

The Grey Cup crowd is one of the most underserved sporting audiences on the continent — fiercely loyal CFL fans in a country where overt Christian conversation in public is increasingly rare. Some of the most meaningful conversations our team has had all year happened in -15° weather, outside a stadium most Americans have never heard of.

Who's the person you know who'd think "a Canadian football game in November" and immediately want to go?

Every summer, the historic Welland Canal in Port Colborne, Ontario fills with tall ships, festival crowds, and families walking the waterfront for four days straight.

Most ministries don't think of a small Canadian canal town as a mission field. Daniel Bayssassew and our SFOI Canada team do.

This year they're going back for Canal Days, July 31 to August 3. Not for the ships. For the conversations the ships make possible — with families on blankets, couples walking the locks, locals who'd never walk into a church but will absolutely stop and talk on a summer afternoon.

If you're in Ontario, or you'd cross the border for a weekend like this, there's room on the team.

What's a place near you that no one thinks of as a mission field?

The Red, White & Boom is scheduled for Friday, July 3, in Columbus, Ohio. It is largest Independence Day Celebration in the Midwest with 400,000 people expected to attend the event.

Lord willing SFOI will be there and is looking for 10 evangelists to join the team to preach the Gospel to the fans and local citizens; minister to them in the moment and to potentially refer them to a Bible teaching church or ministry for discipleship.

A.A. Milne's "Little Boy kneels at the foot of his bed" has touched the hearts of millions of readers. A picture of childhood innocence — a mix of God-language and the distractions of a young mind: "Wasn't it fun in the bath tonight?" and "If I open my fingers a little bit more, I can see Nanny's dressing-gown on the door."

Today's devotional, from John G. Mason at Anglican Connection, asks a question worth sitting with: do adults grow out of that kind of prayer? Should we?

Mason's answer, drawn from Ephesians chapter 1, is that we're meant to grow into something deeper — into prayers like Paul's, who asked God to give the Ephesians enlightened hearts so they would know four specific things:

🔹 God Himself — the kind of knowing that comes only by the Spirit's revelation
🔹 The Hope they had been called to
🔹 The Glory of their inheritance in Christ
🔹 The Power of God available to them, in them

"Like any good parent," Mason writes, "God wants us to grow up — to know him and to enjoy him forever. But he also knows that we need his help. And this he promises. All we need to do is ask."

This is Part 2 of a Wednesday series on Ephesians. The first installment ran last week.
