Tune in today from 1-3 to a Special episode from PRX, " Playlist: DOLLY PARTON SPECIALS"

"Music specials producer Paul Ingles hosts this new hour of music and commentary on the recently departed Dolly Parton, who passed away Tuesday, August 25 at the age of 80 in Nashville. Paul talks with country music expert critic Holly Gleason and WMOT Nashville radio program director Jessie Scott, who both remember stories about Dolly and put her large impact on music in proper context. Both will be suggesting some essential Dolly recordings along with some lesser-known favorites from Dolly's remarkable 49 solo albums and several dearly loved collaboration efforts, like her TRIO recordings with Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris."

Listen on-air at 88.1 FM, online at WUTC.org, or on the WUTC App.

Today, Chattanooga-based artist Mon Rovîa debuted his signature "Afro-Appalachian" folk melodies on the NPR: Tiny Desk Concert series.

"At the Tiny Desk, backed by his full band, Mon Rovîa glides from the intimate revelations of "crooked the road." into the thumping energy of "Somewhere down in Georgia," a nod towards the South's violent history. Throughout the set, his mission is clear: To reconcile pain and conflict with a sense of joy and belonging."
