A well deserved award 👏

There are many ways to define a volunteer: someone who gives freely of their time, puts the mission above themselves, and sets the standard for others to follow. All of those qualities describe Todd Johnson of Michigan, our 2025 Volunteer of the Year.

A former president and active leader of NDA's Northern Jack Pine Branch, and now serving as Director of Advocacy and Policy for MI National Deer Association State Advisory Council, Todd has played a critical role in advancing deer management and conservation efforts across the state. His influence extends beyond NDA, supporting multiple conservation organizations and strengthening the broader mission of wildlife stewardship.

“Todd Johnson’s selection as Volunteer of the Year comes as no surprise,” said Mike Ketelaar, Michigan NDA State Advisory Council President. “He brings passion, leadership, and a unique ability to bring people together. His thoughtful approach to advocacy and deer management has made a lasting impact.”
