Happy Pride Month! While we celebrate love in all of its many different forms, we are reminded that pride month began in 1970 as the one year anniversary of The Stonewall Uprising. In many ways, we have come a long way as a nation, but we continue to see the LGBTQIA+ community under attack. We continue to see loved ones die at the hands of bigotry. We continue to fight for basic rights and dignity for all. No matter what form you come in, you will always have a safe place with the West Ashley Dems. You are loved. You are perfect. We do not tolerate you, we celebrate you. We are thankful that you are part of our community.

🗣️ Help us spread the word. While we are voting in our primaries, our friends over in District 4 🌟ALSO🌟 have a special election for school board. Early voting is the same hours, BUT they must vote at the election commission to get both ballots. If live in District 4 and have already voted in the primaries, you can still head over to the election commission to vote for school board. Yes - we know it is confusing. 😵‍💫 To check to see if you live in District 4 head over to scvotes.gov

The West Ashley Democrats and North Charleston Democrats are joining forces for our June meeting focused on community, civic engagement, and Democratic organizing. Join us at Freehouse Brewery for a celebration marking the end of primary season, connect with fellow Democrats from across the area, and learn how to get more involved locally. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes trip to the election commission on election night and participate in our “Adopt a Polling Location” initiative to help gather precinct results.
