Friends of Embry Hills Library Friends of Embry Hills Library, INC. Friends of the Library groups are composed of volunteers who support their local library branches.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed to support Embry Hills Library, a branch of DeKalb Public Libraries, GA. Membership is open to all. The mission of the Friends of the Library is to promote interest in, use of, and public support for the DeKalb County Public Library. Friends volunteer their time and resources to help provide high quality library services, books, and materials for their community libraries.

This afternoon we launched our first silent book club. Three of us brought books we were reading and read uninterrupted for an hour. No distractions like we often experience when we read at home, but pleasant to be in a public space with others. Afterwards we spent a few minutes talking about the books we were reading. A very pleasant experience. Join us next time from 2-3 on September 10th. Bring whatever you want to read. Light refreshments will be provided. A sweater or jacket is recommended because the room can be chilly.
