Chadron Rotary Club

Chadron Rotary Club Welcome to Chadron Rotary Club! Please join us for lunch every Thursday at 12 p.m. at Country Kitchen. The Chadron Rotary Club was chartered May 1, 1920.

The Chadron Rotary Club meets each Thursday at noon at the Country Kitchen Meeting Room, and is the largest civic club in Chadron. For over 100 years we have provided dedicated service to our wonderful community. Each member has chosen to follow the Rotary Motto of "Service Above Self." This can be seen in the contributions our members make in the community within Rotary and outside the confines o

f the club. We are a club of leaders, learners, and doers. It is a passion of Rotary to not only further our own community, but the world in which we live. This is accomplished through community, regional, and global projects, all of which Chadron Rotary gladly participates in. Through weekly meetings, friendships and networking develop into lasting relationships. Guest speakers enhance each meeting by expanding the club's horizons. Following the leadership of Rotarians worldwide we chose to serve, locally and abroad.

Learning How to Heal Our Community, One Patient at a Time 💙

Today, Chadron Hospital’s Wound Care Manager, Candee, joined the Chadron Rotary Club to share information about the importance of wound care, prevention, and early intervention.

Candee helped start Chadron Hospital’s wound care program from the ground up and has spent more than 30 years caring for patients. During her presentation, she discussed the impact conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, and poor circulation can have on wound healing, and why seeking care early can make all the difference.

One of the key takeaways was the importance of nutrition, activity, and managing chronic conditions to support healing and reduce the risk of complications. Early wound care intervention can help patients heal faster and may prevent serious outcomes such as infection, sepsis, or amputation.

Candee also shared her experience as a Rotary Exchange Student in Norway. During her time abroad, she observed differences in lifestyle, activity levels, and nutrition that contributed to lower rates of chronic wounds and related health issues. She credits the Rotary Youth Exchange program as a life-changing experience that broadened her perspective and continues to influence her approach to patient education today.

Our Wound Care team is committed to continuing education and bringing the latest knowledge and treatments to the communities we serve. Patients can often be seen without a referral, helping them access care sooner when every day counts.

Candee serves as Chadron Hospital’s Wound Care Manager and is a Registered Nurse (RN), Wound, Ostomy and Continence Specialist (WSOC), and Certified Wound Care Professional (CWCP). Her expertise and dedication help ensure patients throughout our region have access to specialized wound care close to home.

Thank you to the Chadron Rotary Club for the opportunity to learn more about this important service and for your continued support of community health.
