David Joel Good
April 15, 1940 — May 10, 2025

David Joel Good, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, departed this life on May 10, 2025, at the age of 85 in Olympia, Washington. He was born April 15, 1940 and graduated from Centralia High School in 1957. The next year when he turned 18 he joined the United States Air Force and served for 4 years. He put his Air Force electronic training to work when he joined the National Cash Register Co. to work as a cash register and accounting machine repair technician. Later he worked as a Service Manager and an Inventory Control Manager for Capitol Business Machines. Dave always had great stories to tell the kids about his service experiences.
In 1963 Dave married Betty Ann Grauman. He was a devoted husband for 61 years.
Dave leaves behind his children, Neil Good and his wife Danielle, residing in Tenino, WA, and Emily Good of Centralia, WA, his grandchildren: Dylan Good and wife Leanna, Destinee Good, Julia Miller and husband Chris, Jacqueline Miller, and Joyti Miller. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he took immense joy in being an integral part of their lives.
Moreover, Dave was blessed with great-grandchildren: Oliver Good, Liam MacNeil, and Landon MacNeil, who brought additional light and laughter into his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Wesley Good and Helen Beatrice Good, his brother Richard Good, and sisters Barb Stewart, Helyn Palmer & Pat Meyn. Their memories lived on in his stories and the impact they had on his life.
Dave will be remembered for his helpfulness, storytelling, humor and occasional pranks that brought joy to those around him. Dave was a volunteer when someone needed a hand with a project. His hobbies included wood working, coin collecting, picture taking and genealogy. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his love and generosity by those that had the privilege to know him.
A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 1601 North St SE, Olympia, WA 98501 on May 31, 2025 at 2pm. A reception will follow at the same location.
