Pastor Cole, a beloved friend and board member of Hope Housing, passed into eternity this morning. We all recognize that Hope Housing would not exist without him.

Cole brought this community many gifts, but chief among them was his keen perception that God's presence is everywhere, and in everyone. He constantly held a mirror up to people and told them the truth about who they are--loved unconditionally, irrevocably worthy of dignity, beautifully and wonderfully made. In his life, he invited others around him to see what he saw, and to hope what he hoped. His passing leaves behind a great wake. Our community lost one of its most important leaders and a tireless advocate for those who are overlooked, and mis-seen. But the eyes he taught us to see with (which are very near to the eyes of Jesus), and the hope he taught us to live with, will not go away.

Cole rests from his labor and his work follows him. And oh how mighty was his work.

The last two duplexes are going up! Come and be a part of the excitement. On May 7,8,9 we will start framing the last units of Shalom Village. We need volunteers to help with this awesome project. We have leads who will guide you, but we are hoping for many volunteers to help with the actual labor. We will be working 1/2 days from 8:00-12:00.
