The Evergreen Playhouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the theatrical arts through education, performance and support. Reaching out to other educational and theatrical groups, organizing and implementing educational experiences for community members and producing high quality live performances are key components to achieving this goal. Kathy Dorgan | Director
“Kathy retired from teaching after 22 years as Theatre Arts teacher at Olympia High School, and served as Artistic Director for Creative Theatre Experience from 2003 to 2022. She has directed local productions at St. Martin’s University, Harlequin Productions, South Puget Sound Community College, Olympia Little Theatre and Olympia Family Theatre. Kathy received her BFA in Theatre at Pacific Lutheran University and an MFA from the University of Portland. She has also trained at the Teaching Artist Lab at Seattle Repertory Theater and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She is a Juilliard School Directing Fellow. Kathy is currently the Chair of the City of Olympia Arts Commission. Kathy wholeheartedly believes in the power of storytelling through theatre to transform perspectives, minds, and hearts, and is committed to working in and promoting the arts wherever and whenever opportunity presents.”

“Danielle is no stranger to live theater, having been in over 80 productions as actor, director, light designer, and behind the scenes. She was last seen on stage as Romaine in Witness for the Prosecution and she directed this season’s Jekyll and Hyde. Danielle has been designing lights in SWW theaters since 2015 and has since done over 60 productions. Special thanks to Kathy and to the tech and design team for their creativity in bringing Scoundrels to our little stage!”

“Sophie Bustetter is excited to be returning to the EP stage for the third time. You may have seen her in Into the Woods (Lucinda) or Mamma Mia (Sophie). Sophie has performed on various stages around the area and some of her favorite recent projects include Anastasia at SPSCC (Anastasia), Uncle Vanya (Sonia) with Screaming Butterflies and The Book Club Play (Ana) at Olympia Little Theater. Outside of theater, Sophie is a 4th grade teacher and an avid traveler. She would like to thank Kathy and her friends and family for their support, many of whom she gets to perform with tonight! Enjoy.”
