Thank you to everyone who attended our Town Hall & K9 demonstration. Havik and Hector did some tricks, sniffed out some drugs, and each got to bite the other K9 officer. We hope you enjoyed the demos and thank you for asking so many questions!

Hector visited dispatch yesterday & he'll be at the CPD Town Hall/K9 Demonstration tonight doing both a drug search and bite demo! We'd love to see you there.

K9 Hector came to visit us today!

02/13/2026

On February 19th we'll be doing a K9 demonstration for the public! It's been a long time since we've been able to do one of these and we are excited. This is happening at the Church of Nazarene, 1119 W 1st Street, Centralia, and it starts at 6 pm.

This is a family-friendly event - so if you want to bring your whole crew, we'd love to see you there.

Officer Stockdale will be there with K9 Havik and Officer Cox will be there with K9 Hector. CPD command staff will also be available for questions.

Hector in action!

OVER THE WEEKEND, Washington State Patrol was involved in a pursuit on northbound I-5. The suspect vehicle crashed shortly after taking exit 71, striking another vehicle before the driver fled on foot behind the Eagle Truck Plaza in Napavine.

WSP requested a K9. K9 Hector responded and conducted a track through multiple storage areas. The suspect was ultimately located inside a conex box within a large open shop building, attempting to appear asleep and unaware of his surroundings.

This incident marked K9 Hector’s first successful track and apprehension! Great work by all agencies involved and an outstanding debut for Hector. 🐾 πŸš“
