Summer clinics are still going on!! See you on the field tonight!! Bring lots of water!!

Greetings AYSO 902 families,

Now that our spring season has come to an end I wanted to thank you all for a wonderful season. Many parents and coaches approached us regarding the possibility of still holding skills clinics over the summer and well… we listened.

Thanks to some awesome coaches who have been eager to volunteer more time and to help our players continue to grow, we will be having skills clinics all summer on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 at Boomer Park. There will be no clinics the week following July 4th.

ALL AGES and PLAYERS ARE WELCOME!!

You do not have to be an AYSO player to utilize our summer clinics. So bring a friend or bring 5.

Our clinics will be FREE to any player who is already registered for the AYSO fall season and any high school boys who were registered in the spring. For all others it will be $5.00 a drop in session and a waiver will need to be filled out by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 prior to the first clinic they attend.

Shinguards are required!!!

Please remember all field rules still apply:
* No dogs allowed
* No smoking or va**ng
* No alcohol allowed
* No carrying of weapons

Cedar Springs AYSO would like to take a moment to recognize a very special member of the 902 family.

If you've been on the 902 fields for the last dozen or so years, you've probably met Sam. Sam's AYSO time began the second he was old enough to play and he hasn't stopped since.

Aside from being the goalkeeper for our 19U team, Sam is also an AYSO referee, he is part of the goalkeeping team for the Cedar Springs High School soccer team, a member of the Cedar Springs band, and an excellent student who manages to keep up on his grades through it all.

Sam is a great kid with a big heart and a desire to serve others. As he wraps up his junior year of high school, Sam is preparing to spend his summer break quite differently than most young men his age.
Sam has enlisted in the US Army National Guard and will head to boot camp for a summer filled with Drill Sergeants, insanely hot weather, drills, and things no one on Earth would consider a good time.
He will then return to Cedar Springs High School to complete his senior year before heading to AIT.

We are so proud of you, Sam. We thank you for your service, your dedication to helping others, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall.

Fall Registration is now open!!!! Don’t wait, spots fill quickly!

Region 902 Families,

Our Fall 2026 registration is now OPEN through July 26th. But hold your horses, Betty!! We have a new registration system as AYSO is moving from Sports Connect to Play Metrics. Region 902 was selected to be a pilot region for the new system and you are some of the first families in the country to use the new site. Basically you are our guinea pigs 🙂 Exciting, right?

This is vastly different than what you are used to but we are here for any and all of your registration questions. I have some highlights below:

Registration:
-when you are ready to register your player (s), go to our website www.ayso902.org. DO NOT log in. Simply click on the "Register Now" button at the top and you will be directed to the new site
-in the new site, add your player and continue on

Epic:
-Epic is now part of core registration. No more separate registration and headaches that went with it

Coach Volunteers:
-instead of registering to coach, you will request to coach. This means you answer a few questions and our super awesome Coach Admin Kristina receives notification of a volunteer wanting to coach.

Player Fees & Discounts:
-we have added an Early Bird discount of $5.00 for players registered through June 30th.
-on the flip side, we have added a Late Fee of $5.00 for all registrations after July 26th.
-the usual $5.00 Multi Player discount is still there

Background Check Fee for Volunteers:
-with Play Metrics comes a new background check system. Region 902 is now using JDP.
-in registration, you will have the option to donate the $25 background check fee. However, the region automatically covers it vs the option for the volunteer to cover it.

Those are just the highlights. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Please remember, this system is new to use as well and we will need a lot of grace and patience as we learn the ropes alongside of you.

Practice starts in less than a week!!! Please join us this Saturday April 11 for field set up. We start at 11:00am, lunch is provided. Many hands make light work. We can’t do this without parent help!
