The Cedar Springs Rotary Club wants to thank ChrisAnn Lilley, Kerry Splitstone, their intrepid band of volunteers, and the Cedar Springs Fire Department for making the Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry possible every month! Thanks to them between 80 and 100 families receive extra food during period of rising prices and economic uncertainties.

The Club also wants to thank Display Pack, Cedar Springs Tool and Engineering, Cedar Springs United Methodist Church, Vanderhyde Ford, and Graaf Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for partnering with the Club in graciously donating funds to make the Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry available in 2026. These organizations are to be commended for their community support!

Please share this need to support the En Gedi youth organization.

EnGedi needs Christian Men - paid position

EnGedi is a nonprofit non-denominational ministry outreach to the middle school kids of Cedar Springs. The origin of our name, which I am sure sounds familiar to you, is the Biblical place of refuge that David found as he was being chased down by King Saul. The organizers of EnGedi in 2009 believed the kids needed a safe place; a place of refuge from the struggles they often face. Their belief in that need has never been more relevant than in 2025.

We are blessed to be able to meet in the Cedar Springs middle school building directly after school from 2 - 5pm Monday - Thursday. This gives us the unique opportunity to get to know kids on a deeper level. We provide a safe, loving place for them to create friendships, receive positive adult interaction and Christian teaching. We help with homework, teach life skills, and provide a fun healthy environment where the kids can experience God's love. They are told He loves them, wants a personal relationship with them, and that He has a purpose for their lives. It is a privilege to share with these amazing kids who are looking for friendship and direction; they are open and listening.

Hi, my name is Melissa Gully, I am the Director of the program; As a female I cannot provide that which I believe is critical in the program and in these kids' lives. A very high percentage of the kids that attend EnGedi do not have a positive male influence in their lives. I am looking for men who primarily have a warm and initiating presence with the kids. Those who are genuinely willing to initiate conversations, listen, to help with homework, and have fun with the kids. It is not necessary to be a disciplinarian. I take on the heavy part of that role (I am a school employee as well) and would only need someone to be my "back up" if a kid needed that added authority or intervention which rarely happens.

The need for a male counterpart is critical. I have a strict policy that I will not operate the program without it. It is necessary for the above reasons and for safety reasons. In 2023 we had one man do all 4 days; last year we had a different man for each of the 4 days. If I can get 4 men (or more for back up) to commit to the days, that will give us the ability to move forward. We will start after Labor Day and run through the school year. We do not meet on holidays or on any day that school is cancelled or not in session. We meet Mon - Thur 2-5pm. It is a paid position.
