Our goal is to keep you informed with all the upcoming events & info in the town! Feel free to post or let us know what is happening! According to legend, this area of land that lay between the Catawba River & the Broad River was referred to by the Catawba & Cherokee tribes as the Eswau Huppeday (the land between the rivers). The two tribes fought many times over the land, with neither side achieving any clear victory. The two tribes agreed to a permanent peace and treaty to leave this land open for both tribes to hunt and travel. Casar, NC was founded in 1890 originally as Race Path. Then the town became Caesar in 1894, but when application was made to the US Postal Service for recognition, the name was misspelled & in 1903 the town officially became Casar. The town hall is located at Casar Park. A Casar legend- Knobby the bigfoot that made news back in 1978 & again in 2010. The Cherokee call them Kecleh Kudleh "Hairy Savage" & Nun Yunu Wi "The Stone Man". Some believe the legend, others claim it to be a moonshiners hoax to scare people away. Every election shapes the place we call home, from our schools and roads to the services we count on every day. When neighbors show up, our whole community is better represented.

Get ready before you head out on Nov. 3:

📍 Find your polling place. Use the NC State Board of Elections Voter Search to get your polling place name and address, plus your sample ballot, so you know what to expect before you walk in: vt.ncsbe.gov/reglkup/

🪪 Bring your photo ID. Voters will be asked to show a valid photo ID when voting in person. If you don’t have one on Election Day, you can still vote and have your vote counted by signing an affidavit.

🕢 Polls are open 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Anyone in line at 7:30 PM can still cast their vote.

Check in with family, friends, and neighbors, and make a plan to vote together. Your vote is one way to take part in the decisions that affect all of us.
