Today is the final day of Amazon Prime Days! If you’re able to add an extra item or two from either our Shelter Wish List (https://a.co/01vcCpEE) or our National Night Out Wish List (https://a.co/0538pXKr), you’ll directly support our agency and the individuals we serve.

Even a small addition to your Amazon cart can make a meaningful difference for our clients and our outreach efforts. To make it even easier, select Beth Smith as the delivery address and your donation will ship directly to the Shelter.

Thank you for supporting our mission. 💜

We had a wonderful morning connecting with the supporters, partners, volunteers, and community members who joined us for our Annual Breakfast Meeting yesterday.

Attendees heard from Executive Director Sonya Browne, Survivor Advisory Board member Susan Mayhew, along with members of our board and staff, as they shared updates on the important work happening at our agency and the impact made possible through the continued support of our community.

We were also honored to recognize Diana Thompson with our Exceptional Volunteer Award, Susan Mayhew with our Community Leadership Award, and to pay tribute to Survivor Advisory Board member Dawn Parker, who we lost following a courageous battle with cancer late last year.

It was a meaningful morning celebrating the dedication, collaboration, and collective efforts that continue to strengthen our agency and support survivors. 💜

Prime Day start tomorrow, and you can make a difference as you shop!

While you score some great deals on Amazon between June 23-26, consider adding a few extra items from either our Shelter Wish List (https://a.co/01vcCpEE) or our National Night Out Wish List (https://a.co/0538pXKr).

The shelter needs everyday essentials like toiletries, cleaning supplies, and household items to help us provide comfort, safety, and support to individuals and families in our programs.

We’re also gearing up for a big impact at this year’s National Night Out scheduled for Tuesday, August 4. We created a Wish List of items to help us engage with our community members and give them something to remember us by after they leave that evening!

A small addition to your Amazon Cart, can make a big difference for either our clients or our outreach efforts. To make it even easier, select Beth Smith as the delivery address and your donation will ship directly to the Shelter!

Thank you for helping us turn Prime Day savings into hope for our community. 💜

Today we honor Juneteenth by celebrating freedom, reflecting on the past, and recognizing the importance of building a more inclusive and supportive community for all.

At DVSCP, we believe safer communities are created through a commitment to equity, justice, and ensuring everyone has access to the resources and support they need.

While emergency shelter provides a safe place during a crisis, many survivors continue to face safety concerns after leaving.

DVSCP provides security cameras to clients as they transition into safe housing to offer an added layer of protection and peace of mind. Cameras also help document concerning incidents, such as when an abusive partner or unsafe individual appears at their home.

Our supply of security cameras is running low, and we need your help to continue providing this critical resource. Community members, businesses, and organizations can donate a camera and have it shipped directly to our shelter here: https://a.co/080giDw6

Thank you for helping survivors feel safer in their new homes. 💜

Sending a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone at H2L Studio, LLC. for hosting a Barre Class fundraiser benefiting our agency!

Participants were encouraged to make a monetary donation in support of our free programs and services, and the event was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness, connect with community members, and enjoy a fun workout for a meaningful cause.

A special thank you to instructor Mallory, everyone who attended, and the entire H2L team for making this event possible. 💜

Refugees fleeing violence, conflict, and persecution often face unimaginable challenges — and for some, that journey includes escaping domestic violence, abuse, or exploitation. Language barriers, immigration concerns, financial dependence, and fear of authorities can create additional obstacles when seeking safety and support.

Today kicks off National Refugee Week, and we’re inviting you to check out three additions to our Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) to learn more about the experiences of refugees and the unique challenges they may face when navigating domestic violence.

To submit these books or view the full list of approved SRC titles, click the link below. Deadline to enter books is Monday, August 24 (*Don’t forget to submit each book read separately through the online form).

DVSCP was thrilled to participate in the Babies in Bloom Community Baby Shower at Newport Assembly of God Family Life Center. Hosted by UPMC Central Pa. and the Nurse Family Partnership, the event celebrated Perry County families and connected them with valuable resources to support healthy pregnancies and positive birth outcomes.

Each family received free gifts, and thanks to generous community donations—including diapers from DVSCP and many other much-needed items—attendees had the opportunity to take home additional raffle prizes.

We were grateful to be part of this meaningful event and for the chance to connect with local families and community partners.
