REMINDER: IT'S TOMORROW!
Everyone is invited to the Candor Historical Society annual dish-to-pass picnic on Saturday, August 22, from 10-2 at Myers Gardens, 1071 Michigan Hollow Rd., Spencer. You don't have to be a member of the Society to come to this wonderful place. You'll find eight barns including a grist mill with a working waterwheel, a blacksmith shop, cider house, dairy shed, and corn crib - all filled with historical treasures, a 30-foot diameter, 56-ton hand-built sundial, a fossil house for some of the rarest glass sea sponges ever found, a koi pond, and an extensive brick collection. Please bring a dish-to-pass for our lunch at noon. We will provide plates and cups, cutlery, and drinks. If you've not seen enough by 2 pm, please feel free to stay longer.

It looks like the weather is going to be PERFECT for this Saturday’s garden tour. Arrive whenever you’d like (as long as you’re done by 2pm), tour at your own pace, and bring a picnic lunch if you’d like. Please just be respectful and leave things as beautiful as they were when you arrived.

Several other reminders…cell phone reception is pretty much non-existent here, there’s construction on Route 34/96 at the juncture with Michigan Hollow Road so pay attention, and please park on the north side of the driveway (perpendicular to it).

We said it before and we’ll say it again…don’t miss out on visiting this AMAZING site!

This little 5”x7” autograph album is dated 1856, making it about 170 years old. It belonged to Sarah Keeler of Candor. Some of the messages/poems are faded and hard to read but still very interesting. I have included a few that are more legible.
