Today Green Team had their last meeting of the year and they harvested our last lettuce crop of the year! They have now completed every step of growing lettuce from seed, to installing the the seedlings and now harvesting!

Oh and it was 18.5 pounds!

It has been an honor and a privilege to work with these smart ambitious kids.

Ask your kiddo about the hydroponic machine at the back of the cafeteria. It's sooo cool!

Green team were busy at our November meeting! We problem solved some waste station issues and now are in business with our daily volunteers helping at lunch.

We also finished making signs to hang daily for what two items are compostable.

The hydroponic committee has also been meeting and we have seeds going! System is up and running!

Green Team needs a bit of help...can you help us?

Green Team does an amazing job of helping students compost everyday during lunch and then they take that compost out to our 2 outdoor compost bins. BUT we need help maintaining and turning the compost.

What we are looking for is someone who can go and turn the compost every few months and give it the love it needs. This is a project that can be done at your own convenience as far as time of day and what day it is. I'm happy to meet you there and explain the process and how it all works. Just a heads up, it's bee season so there are some bees. But they will be gone soon. It hasn't been turned since we started last year.

If you are interested please reach out. It would be a HUGE help and you would help make a difference. You can email [email protected]

Thank you!
