https://twitter.com/socalpomrescue We only adopt locally to Southern California. Once an SCPR Rep.

ADOPTING: Pomeranians are cute and silly, but they are not for everyone. Your lifestyle should MATCH the handful of needs in caring for a Pomeranian. If you are considering becoming a dog owner for the first time, please read up about this breed in our Note Section. We do require veterinary references and a friendly Home Check by one of our volunteers to simply look for perilous situations that y

ou may not be aware of. ADOPTION PROCESS: To adopt a Pomeranian from us, the first step is to email us for an application. receives and reviews your application, we then set an appointment for you to meet the dog you are interested in. If all goes well, you can take the pet home for up to 1 week on a trial run. Adoption donations can vary anywhere from $100-500 depending on the dog's health, age, and temperament. Donations can be paid by cash, check, credit card, or in advance by Paypal. During this period your money is still fully refundable. During that time if you have training issues, medical problems, etc please feel free to contact the rescue and we will do what we can to remedy the problem. Our goal is to help these pups re-adjust and acclimate to their new homes with as little difficulty as possible. If things just don't work out for the entire week you can return the dog for a full refund or exchange for another possible match. If things do work out we finalize adoptions after the full trial is complete. At that time you receive medical records, microchip information, rabies/microchip/sterility certificates, a copy of the adoption contract, and any personal belongings assigned to the pet at intake. Once the adoption is final you can write the adoption donation off as it is 100% tax deductible (We are a non-profit rescue group). Lastly should you ever be unable to provide adequate care for the pet we will always take them back, no matter the reasons. FOSTERING: Not sure about Adopting?! If you're not sure you can commit to providing for a Pommie for the rest of its life, may we encourage you to try fostering? This is a great, no-cost alternative way to see if a Pommie is right for you or your family's lifestyle. APPLICATIONS: Please email us directly at [email protected]

RESPONSE: Turn Around time upon receiving your application takes anywhere from 1-5 days. Our non-paid volunteers who handle the Applications also hold jobs and do their best to get back to you ASAP. Of course, other factors like computer troubles, vacation time, emergencies, and such can affect this process. INTAKE PROCESS: Once we accept a Pommie into our rescue, whether it be by Owner Surrender or from a shelter, they are screened for various issues like behavioral and health problems prior to adopting out. BEHAVIORAL SCREENING: This means that we check via our foster parents to see if they get along with kids, the elderly, cats, dogs, other animals, etc. If they nip, are scared of fast movement, loud sounds, are jumpy, or don't like to be touched, we bring in a trainer to help the fosters work on these issue(s). MEDICAL SCREENING: Our rescues are dewormed, current on vaccines, free of parasites and communicable disease, treated for pre-existing conditions, and declared healthy within manageable limits. This is where ALL rescues are ALWAYS in need of donations-to cover outstanding Veterinarian bills. OUT-OF-STATE? Please see our National Pomeranian Rescues list in our Note section to find a Pomeranian dog rescue in your area here -- http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150177764782725

Meet Corky & Shades! 🐾 They are 1 year old male Keeshonds that would make incredible companions.

About Corky:
The cuddler! Corky likes to lay close always touching and will wrap his front legs around your neck as if to give and get hugged. He enjoys playing and chasing his best friend, Shades.
Note, he still needs some training. He knows the command sit, comes when called but needs more practice with stay and walking on a leash. He is dog and people friendly and he is a medium sized keeshond with a lovely coat.

About Shades:
Mr. Shades is as his name says: a handsome keeshond with distinct spectacles (Shades) and an eye-catching black and grey coat. He is smaller than his pal Corky and a bit more reserved, but is coming out of his shell in leaps and bounds “literally.”
His training skills are much the same as his “brother” Corky. He is smart and a quick learner. He will sit on command then artfully leap in the air to catch a treat. The two of them love playing as well as calmly sleeping side by side.

Corky and Shades have been together since they were puppies and would love to find a home that could adopt and love two sweet young keeshond pups.

One phone call changed everything.

Foxy needed surgery. Her owner couldn’t afford it.

A Good Samaritan called Southern California Pomeranian Rescue.

We said yes.

Today, Foxy is healing beautifully because people cared.

Now we’re asking for your help to replenish the emergency medical funds that made her rescue possible.

Still needed: $3,363.38

Will you help us be ready for the next emergency?

The loudest thing about today should be the fireworks… not a trip to the emergency vet.

Keep your little ones close.
Keep them off beds and furniture.
Give them a safe place to relax while the celebrations begin.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Southern California Pomeranian Rescue. 🇺🇸🐾💜
