Tonight the Wolf Scouts worked on their Safety in Numbers adventure. They answered questions on worksheets about playground and fire safety. They also made a diagram of their house showing how to exit in case of a fire, and they chose a meeting place outside.

The scouts then became Wolf Detectives. They took their clipboards outside and inspected the playground, and they earned their Wolf Detective badge for completing the activity.

To practice the buddy system, we played a three-legged race and a run mat game. We finished the night with a snack.

Tonight’s flashlight hike was a lot of fun! The older Scouts walked the trail while the younger Scouts walked along the road. Then, we all met up and walked back together. We got to see a lot of nature tonight, especially deer! 🦌🔦

We ended the night with a snack and some awards. It was a great night of adventure, fun, and making memories! 🌲⭐

🏕️ Outdoor Adventures Are Underway! 🥾

Last night, our Bears, Webelos, and AOL Scouts kicked off their outdoor-themed adventures!

🐻 Bears explored how long different types of trash take to decompose and why it’s so important to take care of the outdoors and Leave No Trace.

🥾 Webelos & AOLs practiced some basic first aid skills for situations they might encounter on the trail, including blisters, sunburn, sprained ankles, and heat exhaustion. They also reviewed the Six Cub Scout Essentials and worked together to pack a hiking bag with everything they’ll need.

🗺️ Toward the end of the meeting, both groups came together to start planning next week’s hike! Scouts explored our route using an electronic map, looked at the terrain we’ll encounter, and checked the forecast to talk about choosing the right clothing and gear.

Next week, we get to put everything we learned into practice on the trail!

🥾🌲 We’re excited to hike next week — hopefully the weather treats us well!
