🌺🕊️ What a beautiful morning of creativity, community, and color! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Tropical Hummingbird Mosaic Suncatchers workshop at Burtonsville Crossing in celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month.

From tiny artists to grown-up creators, it was amazing to watch each hummingbird come to life with vibrant colors, sparkling beads, and unique artistic touches. Every piece was different, and every participant helped make this event something special. ✨

A huge thank you to our partners at Burtonsville Crossing and to everyone who continues to support free, accessible arts programming in our community. Your enthusiasm and creativity inspire us every month!

Behind every summer art program is a whole lot of planning, sorting, packing, and teamwork! 🎨📦

We’ve been hard at work opening dozens of package’s and preparing art supplies for 12 different summer art program groups across Brown and Middletown Elementary as part of one of our newest partnerships with Charles County Public Schools.

From paint and paper to all the creative extras, every bin we pack is another opportunity for young artists to explore, create, and grow this summer. We can’t wait to see what these students make in the weeks ahead!

🎨🧵 What a beautiful afternoon at our Paint & Stitch Summer Landscape Workshop this past Saturday! Participants explored watercolor techniques, fabric collage, embroidery, and hand stitching to create one-of-a-kind mixed media landscapes. We loved seeing everyone’s creativity come to life and watching each artist put their own unique spin on the project. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this workshop such a special experience!

🌺🐦 And we’re not done yet! Join us this Saturday, June 20th, as we return to Burtonsville Crossing for another FREE community art experience: Tropical Hummingbird Mosaic Suncatchers! Create a vibrant mosaic-inspired hummingbird suncatcher, celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage Month, and enjoy a fun morning of creativity with family and friends. All ages are welcome!

Take a look at one of the beautiful sample landscapes participants will create during our Paint & Stitch: Summer Landscape Workshop. Using fabric, paint, texture, beads, and simple hand-stitching techniques, you’ll create your own unique mixed-media artwork inspired by summer scenery.

We’re excited to welcome guest Teaching Artist Emily Thaler, who will guide participants through this creative fiber arts experience. Whether you’re new to sewing or already love working with textiles, this workshop is designed to be fun, creative, and beginner-friendly.

The Arts were on display at the 100 year celebration of Laurel Elementary!

Laurel ES students collaborated to create Mandala Tile murals which were on display for the first time today for the celebration. Creative Outlets teaching artists Lesley and Megan tag teamed to bring this vision to life with Laurel Art teacher Ms. Olden.

The school recieves recognition proclamations from the state, county, and city of laurel- it was a true community affair and we are so grateful to have been part of it!

🌺🐦 We're excited to return to Burtonsville Crossing for another free community art event!

Join Creative Outlets Arts Center as we celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage Month with our Tropical Hummingbird Mosaic Suncatchers workshop.

Hummingbirds can be found throughout the Caribbean and are often admired for their beauty, resilience, and vibrant colors. Inspired by the region's tropical landscapes and rich cultural heritage, participants will create their own colorful mosaic-inspired suncatcher to take home.

This workshop is perfect for all ages and is designed to bring families, neighbors, and community members together through creativity and cultural exploration.

Laurel Elementary School students worked collaboratively to create these gorgeous Mandala Tile Murals, combining creativity, teamwork, and self-expression into one beautiful installation.

Each student designed and painted their own unique tile, and together they transformed individual pieces into a stunning collective work of art. 🎨✨

From paint nights and wellness workshops to sewing, fiber arts, and creative gatherings, our goal has always been bigger than art. We aim to create spaces where people can relax, connect, heal, and simply enjoy being present.
