"When Organizations Come Together, Communities Grow Stronger"

Each year, The Dunn Foundation proudly partners with amazing organizations and community leaders to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness by giving back to families who need it most. This event is a powerful reminder that when agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and public servants work together, we can create real impact in our communities.

Through partnerships with organizations like Chick fil-A, Maryland Physicians Care, Radio One, local law enforcement, and community volunteers, we are able to provide free meals, resources, and moments of joy to children and families. It’s more than just an event, it's a movement.

Acts of kindness may seem small, but together they create a ripple effect that can transform lives.

We look forward to seeing families in the community and continuing the mission of spreading kindness, hope, and opportunity.

"We All Came From A Woman"

The Dunn Foundation would like to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month to honor the vital role women have played in shaping history, culture, and society. What began as a local celebration in Santa Rosa, California in 1978 grew into a national observance, and in 1987, March was officially designated as Women’s History Month in the United States.

At the The Dunn Foundation, Women’s History Month is more than a celebration it is a commitment.
Throughout the year, we proudly support programs that uplift and empower women in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and Los Angeles communities. Our outreach efforts focus on:
-Supporting women experiencing homelessness
-Providing resources for women facing domestic violence
-Connecting families to essential supplies and community partnerships
-Creating safe, dignified spaces for healing and rebuilding

We recognize the strength, resilience, and leadership of women not only in history but in our communities today. Women are caregivers, entrepreneurs, educators, veterans, public servants, and change-makers. And when women rise, families and communities rise with them.

This month, we celebrate the legacy of women who paved the way, we celebrate the many trailblazers who are still fighting battles behind closed doors. WE SEE YOU!

"We are the Voice of Our History- Dr. William Dunn

As we close out Black History Month, we pause to remember those who stood on the front lines of the Civil Rights and Black Power movements often at great personal cost.

Civil rights activist H. Rap Brown, later known as Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, died today, was one of the most fiery and uncompromising voices of the late 1960s. As a prominent figure in the Black Power movement, he challenged systemic racism, police brutality, and the conditions facing Black communities during one of the most turbulent eras in U.S. history.

His life, like the movement itself, was complex and controversial marked by powerful advocacy, sharp rhetoric, transformation through faith, and later chapters that continue to spark debate. Yet his story reminds us that history is not simple, and justice is never neat.

Black History Month is not just about reflection it’s about responsibility. The rights many enjoy today were fought for, bled for, and died for. And the fight for equity, dignity, and justice is not over. It is our responsibility to educate our children and communities about Black History. "We honor the struggle by continuing the work."✊🏾

If We Don't Continue Tell Our History, Who Will?
