After thoughtful deliberation, the board of directors has decided to cancel the 2025 Carolina Mountains Literary Festival. As our community continues to heal and rebuild from the challenges of the past six months, we’ll be using this time to plan for an even stronger return in 2026. We are continually inspired by the resilience and kindness of our community, and we look forward to sharing updates

with you along the way. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Art Contest 2026

The Carolina Mountains Literary Festival is looking for original artwork to use as the image for the Festival on September 10-12, 2026.

Art must reflect this year’s theme:
Porchlight: Stories That Guide Us Home
Authors’ books are stories of the past and the present, generations of joy and grief, family gatherings with secrets and connections.

All ages may submit a high resolution photograph of an original painting, drawing, collage, sculpture. photograph. or computer generated image.
Artists must give written permission for CMLF to use the art and to allow us to format for bookmarks, posters, website, social media, advertisements, etc..

The winner will receive $200 and our thanks..
Send a photograph of your original artwork with the subject line “ART CONTEST” to [email protected] by APRIL 24.
