The Garden of Stewardship broke ground summer 2009; providing fresh vegetables for meals served by Central City Cafe' and Durham's Central City Baby Cafe. The soup kitchen provides showers, lunch and other services for the hungry and homeless. The Baby a Cafe provides dinner for pregnant, breastfeeding moms and their families on Wednesday and Thursday Evenings at 5:30pm, it's a free drop in center

. Central City Cafe and Durham's Central City Baby Cafe are an Affiliate ministries of Durham Memorial AME Zion Church.
