Alot happened this weekend! On Friday some of our UIS participatants attended the Friends of Chamber Music BCS Patchwork Quartet concert and it was marvelous; fun with the Parent and Child String Orchestra rehearsal, Saturday morning (no pics. 😭), Adult Orchestra rehearsal- they are now a sextet!, and Family Orchestra fun today! I peeked in two of the photos!

We may be past , but we think our Faculty team here at Unity in Strings is worth a whole month, or maybe more! ❤

🎵 Music Fact Friday! 🎵

Did you know that playing music can help strengthen your brain's ability to process and remember information? 🧠🎻

When you play an instrument, your brain is working on rhythm, timing, coordination, listening, and memory—all at the same time!

All week I started private violin lessons for the participants in the Parent and Child String Orchestra. The one thing that stood out to me was the parent "giggle". Disbelief and childlike excitement that they were embarking on something that maybe they thought was impossible at this stage in their lives. This gave me joy!

Brazos Valley Gives brings the region together as one community raising money and awareness for our local nonprofits during the 18-hour online giving challenge. We inspire people to give generously to nonprofits making our region stronger and creating a thriving community for all. Over the past 7 years, the Community Foundation's Annual Brazos Valley Gives has raised more than $7.5 million for participating nonprofits.
