Men’s Health Month
There is often a strong focus on men’s physical health — fitness, annual checkups, and heart health — but mental well-being is equally as important because mental health is health!
Just as the body needs care and attention, so does emotional and mental well-being. Yet, there is a silent crisis in men’s mental health — one that too often goes unnoticed or unspoken. Men are nearly four times more likely to die by su***de than women*, underscoring the urgent need to break this silence and seek support.

Take one action today:
✔️ Check in on a friend
✔️ Schedule a therapy appointment
✔️ Take a walk and breathe
✔️ Share your story
✔️ Reach out for support
✔️ Give yourself grace

You do not have to struggle alone. Every conversation, every act of kindness, and every step toward healing matters.

Let’s turn awareness into ACTION. 💚

Mental Health Action Day
Thursday, May 21, 2026

Hi Partners,
This is a quick reminder that tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st, is Mental Health Action Day! If your team hasn't had the time to plan a massive campaign this year, don't worry—it is not too late to activate. Because this is an open-source, decentralized movement, the most powerful thing we can do is simply encourage people to take one action. You don't need a month of prep or a big budget to make a difference tomorrow.

Here are a few quick, low-lift ways your team can activate at the very last minute:

Share the "Try Something New" Message: Tomorrow is all about encouraging people to try just one new, low-stakes mental health practice. You can easily participate by sharing a quick post, a relatable meme, or using interactive social media stickers (like "New Habit Loading..." or "Tried something new today") to show that taking care of yourself doesn't have to be perfect.

Drop an "A.S.K." Check-In in Slack or Email: Give your internal team or your audience a simple 3-step tool to check on a peer. Remind them to A.S.K.—Acknowledge feelings, Support by listening, and Keep-in-touch. Even encouraging your team to take 10 minutes tomorrow to text a friend makes a massive impact.

Internal Workplace Recharge: Send a quick note to your staff tomorrow morning giving them permission to block out one hour of their day to step away from their screens, take a walk, or just breathe. Normalizing mental health at work starts with simple gestures.

A Quick Social Media Shoutout: If nothing else, a simple post reminding your followers that their mental health matters is incredibly valuable. Use your platform to point people toward trusted resources like MentalHealthIsHealth.us.

No matter how small or last-minute the gesture, your voice helps build a vital culture of action. Just use the official hashtag on whatever you choose to share tomorrow.

Let’s move from awareness to action—even if we're starting today!

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

This month, NAMI Brazos Valley stands together to raise awareness, fight stigma, and remind our community that mental health matters.

You are not alone.
Whether you are living with a mental health condition, supporting a loved one, or simply learning more — hope, help, and healing are possible.

✨ Together we can:
• Encourage open conversations
• Promote understanding and compassion
• Connect individuals and families to support and resources
• Advocate for mental wellness for everyone

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Let’s continue building a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered.
