MORE POOR AIR QUALITY FOR FRIDAY (7/17/2026)
We are looking at a more unfavored wind on Friday, which will bring the thicker wildfire smoke further south. All of Ohio is under an air quality alert again for Friday as a result of this. Northeast portions of Ohio remains in the hazardous category, with the rest of northern Ohio seeing very unhealthy air quality.
Limit time outside if you are able to as breathing in the surface wildfire smoke could be very dangerous, especially for long periods of time. Healthy individuals may even see some effects if outdoors for hours.
Use extreme caution indoors, meaning limit the time you have your windows and doors to the outside open. This can allow wildfire smoke to enter your home, place of business, etc. I understand with the warmth, it can be hard keeping the inside cool if you have no A/C. If you do have an AC unit, even a window one, you can use this to keep the house cool as these recycle the air inside, versus outside.
While we recommend limiting personal vehicle use to limit increase ozone, it would be best if you are not in an area where public transportation is available as being outdoors for long periods of time could be hazardous if you walk or bike.
