Co-Founder, Eric Cupps spent part of the morning discussing the mission and goals of our organization.

Congressman Gus Billirakis’ Office was shocked and saddened to hear how War Veteran, Rancher and Hernando County Resident, Mr. Larry Diepolders will is not being honored through the sneaky Quiet Title Actions of the local $couting Council.

Our ask is for the Florida Attorney General to investigate the lack of regard to Public Interest.

Attention Hernando County Government:

We implore you to open litigation and SUE the greater Tampa Bay area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

According to the last Will and Testament of Mr. Larry Diepolder the County and its Residents are entitled to the land!!!!

It’s been said that Sandy Hills Ranch and its land is the ‘Central Park’ of Hernando County. There can be plenty of ways to use this land to enhance the quality of life for generations to come!

🗣️ To the Scout Executive and the Executive Board. Clearly, you can see your actions to attempt to rezone/sell this GIFTED land have consequences.  The community will CONTINUE to speak out until you decide to be MORALLY STRAIGHT and reconcile the gift from Mr. Larry Diepolder. You can’t claim lack of money when you want to build a $10M Dining Hall in Odessa! 🤡 there are other character development options than Scouting 😷 Trail Life? You’re loosing the battle daily! Can Scouting afford more negative press?

There are strong community concerns about the loss of this recreational land and whether the original charitable intent of the gift is being adequately considered.

I respectfully request that the Attorney General’s office review this matter and any related charitable trust or public-interest issues.”

are a very telling story of what has happened to our aquifer and water supply here in Florida. An area that was once a beautiful lake and ponds everywhere is now filled in and just a small portion holding out hope.

Larry DiePolder saw what was coming. He tried to ensure that this area would remain protected.

Dear Scouts your reputation was already tarnished do you really want the final legacy to be the utter disrespect of a Florida pioneer's vision for our future?”

It’s important to note that Tampa Scouting is NOT in financial straits. They have a $23M endowment and a fresh stack 💵 from the sale of the first 52 acres sold to WREC. They also cleared over $770k last year according to their 990 Financial Affidavit

Kudos to Founder Forest Bennett for going on camera.

A proposal to sell a large portion of the Sand Hill Scout Reservation is renewing a debate over the future of the Hernando County property and whether hundreds of acres could eventually be developed.
