🎖️ We remember. We rise. Today, we honor those who gave everything—and reflect on what we can build because of their sacrifice. Education. Access. Opportunity. To the veterans, military families, and their kids: We see you. We support you. 🇺🇸 Comment a name or story to honor this Memorial Day.

Saving money as a student doesn’t have to be complicated. Start with a budget so you know where your money is going. Take advantage of student discounts—they’re there for a reason. And be smart about food—those daily takeout runs add up fast. Small habits now can make a big difference later. Which one are you working on first? 👇🏾

Consistency over cramming — studying a little every day is far more effective than trying to learn everything at once. Build a routine and stick to it.

Study in focused blocks — remove distractions and give your full attention for a set period of time. Quality of focus matters more than hours spent.

Understand, don’t just memorize — aim to truly grasp the concept so you can apply it, not just repeat it.

Take breaks to reset — your brain needs time to recharge. Short breaks help you stay sharp and avoid burnout.

Ask for help early — don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed. Reach out to teachers, professors, or peers when something doesn’t make sense.

Discipline over motivation — you won’t always feel like studying, and that’s okay. What matters is showing up anyway.

Required Reading for the Disenfranchised Freshman is a powerful read for students stepping into new spaces and trying to figure out who they are. It follows a freshman navigating a new school environment, identity, and the pressure to fit in—while learning how to stay true to himself. This book hits on confidence, belonging, and finding your voice when everything around you feels unfamiliar. If you’re preparing for high school, college, or any new chapter… this one will resonate.

Are you the early planner who thrives with a checklist? The people-person who does your best in group settings? Or maybe the last-minute sprinter who works best under pressure? Whatever your style, knowing how you work best can help you succeed—not just in school, but in jobs, internships, and everyday life. There’s no one right way to get things done. But there is value in understanding your habits so you can set yourself up for success. Take a moment to reflect on your style. Then use that awareness to adjust your routines, explore compatible careers, or just improve how you manage your time.

We live in a world that tries to define success in narrow, rigid ways. But let’s be real: not everyone’s path will include a 4-year college, and that’s not a problem—it’s power. Trade school, entrepreneurship, creative work, healing from burnout, or figuring things out step-by-step—all of these are valid. You get to define what success looks like for you. Don’t let systems, social media, or someone else’s expectations tell your story for you.

Yesterday, Liberated Success had the honor of presenting at the United Federation of Teachers () Good Vibes Only Conference!

We are grateful for the opportunity to engage middle and high school students in an empowering conversation about the 7 essential executive functioning skills students need to successfully transition into high school, college, careers, and adulthood. From impulse control and emotional regulation to planning, organization, and task initiation, students explored how these skills impact everyday decision-making, leadership, and independence.

This session was especially meaningful because it was co-facilitated by Lana a Liberated Scholar who courageously shared personal stories from her own academic journey. Her honesty, growth, and reflections helped students see that executive functioning skills are not just “school skills”, they are life skills that can be strengthened over time through self-awareness, support, and perseverance.

Together, we encouraged students to see themselves as the architects and leaders of their own lives, capable of making intentional choices, adapting to challenges, and building a future rooted in purpose and possibility.

Thank you again to the United Federation of Teachers for creating spaces where young people can feel seen, inspired, and empowered to grow.
