Our mission has evolved and it reflects who we are today. 💚

Earlier this summer, the Pennock Center for Counseling team came together during our Team Retreat to reflect on the heart of our work: who we serve, why our work matters, and what we want our mission to communicate to our community.

Through thoughtful conversation and collaboration, we developed an updated mission statement that more clearly reflects our commitment to making quality mental health care accessible:

“The mission of Pennock Center for Counseling is to provide affordable, high-quality mental health counseling that supports and strengthens the well-being of our community.”

While the words have changed, the heart behind our work remains the same. We believe everyone deserves access to compassionate mental health support, regardless of income or circumstance. 🫶💚

A New Look for Pennock Center for Counseling 📣🎉

Over the past several months, our team and Board of Directors have been thoughtfully working through a rebranding process for Pennock Center for Counseling, one that better reflects who we are today, honors where we came from, and represents where we are headed.

As part of this exciting next chapter, you will begin to see a refreshed look and feel for Pennock, including a new logo, a new website, and updated mission, vision, and values.

Our new logo was intentionally designed to tell a story, with each element representing an important part of Pennock’s past, present, and future:

The Tree — Our Roots & Growth
The tree represents the roots Mary Pennock planted in our community and the legacy that continues to guide our work today. It also symbolizes the growth, strength, and transformation our clients can experience through therapy.

The Path — The Journey Toward Healing
Healing looks different for everyone. The path represents the individual journey each client takes as they move forward, navigate challenges, and work toward greater well-being.

The Sun — Hope for a Brighter Future
The rising sun represents hope, possibility, and the belief that brighter days are ahead. It reflects what we strive to offer every person who walks through our doors, a path toward hope and healing.

This rebrand is about much more than a new logo. It is an opportunity to more clearly communicate who Pennock Center for Counseling is, what we stand for, and the impact we hope to continue making in our community for years to come.

We are incredibly proud of Pennock’s history and the foundation that has been built over the years. As we honor those roots, we are equally excited about the future and this next chapter for our organization.

While Brighton is home to the majority of the clients we serve, Pennock Center for Counseling’s impact extends far beyond Brighton.

In 2025, individuals and families from 19 different cities across the greater Denver metro area and surrounding communities turned to Pennock for mental health counseling, from Fort Lupton, Lochbuie and Keenesburg to Thornton, Commerce City, Aurora, Denver and beyond.

These communities may be different, but the need is the same: access to quality, compassionate and affordable mental health care.

We are proud to be a trusted resource not only for Brighton, but for individuals and families throughout our growing region.

Some days are harder than others, and that’s okay. A gentle reminder for today and every day:

You don’t have to have everything figured out. Progress can happen one small step at a time. Asking for help is a sign of strength, and you are worthy of the same compassion you so freely give to others.

Take care of yourself. Give yourself grace. And remember, hope and healing don’t always happen all at once, they begin with the next step. 💚🫶

25 Years Later, We Remember.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation and the lives of countless families.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We honor the first responders, service members, survivors, families, and everyday people who demonstrated extraordinary courage and compassion in the face of unimaginable tragedy. And we recognize that for many, the emotional impact of that day did not end when the smoke cleared.

Anniversaries of traumatic events can bring emotions back to the surface, grief, anxiety, sadness, fear, or memories that still feel incredibly close, even decades later. Today, we encourage you to take care of your mental health. Give yourself permission to step away from difficult news or images, reach out to someone you trust, spend time with the people you love, or simply make space for whatever you may be feeling.

And remember to check in on one another. Sometimes a simple, “How are you doing today?” can mean more than we realize.

Twenty-five years later, may we continue to honor those we lost not only by remembering them, but by carrying forward the compassion, kindness, unity, and care for one another that emerged during one of our nation's darkest moments. 🇺🇸💚🫶

Nearly half of the clients we serve rely on reduced-fee or free counseling to access the mental health care they need. ❤️‍🩹

At Pennock Center for Counseling, we believe cost should never stand in the way of hope and healing. Our counseling services that are provided at a reduced fee or at no cost, are made possible in part through the generosity of donors, community partners, and grant funding.

Behind that 49% are real people, children, adults, couples, and families, who may otherwise have to choose between getting the mental health support they need and meeting other essential expenses.
