💙 Every success story reminds us why this work matters 💚

This client first came through our Navigation Center, where we were able to connect him with our Outreach team and the SWAP program. Together, we helped him take the next steps toward stability, and today he is proudly housed!

As another incredible milestone, he passed his written test, earned his driving permit, completed his driving test, and received his driver's license- all in one day!

Moments like these are about so much more than housing or a driver's license. They represent hope, determination, independence, and the life-changing impact that happens when a community comes together to support someone's journey.

Congratulations on your new home, your new license, and this exciting next chapter! 🏡

We are incredibly grateful to El Pomar Foundation for awarding Almost Home a grant to support our rental and utility assistance efforts!

For families struggling to make ends meet, one unexpected expense can put housing stability at risk. This generous funding will help Almost Home provide critical assistance to help our neighbors stay in their homes and keep their electricity on. 🏠💡

El Pomar Foundation is one of Colorado’s largest and oldest private foundations, contributing approximately $25 million annually to support nonprofit organizations across the state through grants and community stewardship and leadership development programs. Founded by Spencer and Julie Penrose in 1937, El Pomar’s mission is to enhance, encourage and promote the current and future well-being of the people of Colorado.

Community connections in action! 🤝

Last week, Almost Home brought together participants from our Guaranteed Income for Older Adults (GIFOA) program, along with other community members age 60+, for an opportunity to connect with valuable health and wellness resources.

Attendees had the chance to speak directly with a physician about diabetes and related complications, as well as connect with two Medicare brokers who were available to answer Medicare questions. And as an added bonus, fresh vegetables were provided for participants to take home! 🥕🥦

Opportunities like this are made possible through the work of our Housing Navigation Center Coordinator and GIFOA Case Manager, who help connect program participants and community members with resources that support their overall well-being.

We’re grateful for partnerships and collaborations that allow us to bring helpful resources directly to the people we serve! 💚🏠

A huge thank you to the Kindness Counts group at the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center at Eagle View for their generous donation of laundry and home cleaning supplies for Almost Home’s Family Shelter!

Donations of everyday essentials like these help us keep our shelter stocked and provide families with the items they need during their time with us.
