We’re so grateful to Pure Hope Foundation and Pure Hope Ranch for hosting a Respite Advocate Weekend for leaders from several agencies!

Refuge for Women is thankful for the hearts behind this organization and for Kathrine Lee’s vision to provide rest and retreat for those who pour out for others. It was a truly intentional time of rest and receiving.

Our President, Abby Germer, and North Texas Executive Director, Christine Mann, were honored to attend and share this weekend with leaders representing organizations from across the country.

Rest matters, especially for those doing this work. Thank you, Pure Hope, for caring for the caregivers. 🤍

Our team attended the Hope That Speaks conference in Alabama last week!

We gathered alongside anti-trafficking agencies from across the country, and being in the same room to learn from one another is always a powerful reminder that we are not alone in this work.

We're so grateful to Jeanne Allert, Institute for Survivor Care, and The Wellhouse for hosting such an incredible event!

Staff from across our locations attended, and our team also had the chance to contribute materials for breakout sessions on fundraising, hiring staff, and leading through change. It was a joy to see so many different lanes come together.

Our Reintegration Empowerment program helps reunite moms and their children by providing a safe place to live and heal together. With a community walking alongside them, families can rebuild trust and create new memories as they find stability.

Be Like Gene

Gene Hnatek is a faithful, longtime supporter of Refuge for Women whose passion for the mission is evident in the way he lives and serves.

In September, Gene partnered with North Coast Calvary Church in San Diego, California, to host an event highlighting the reality of trafficking and the work being done to support survivors. By bringing his community together, he created an opportunity for others to learn, care, and get involved.

Gene’s heart for this mission moves him to action. We are grateful for his faithfulness and the way he invites others to be part of the work.

We invite you to be like Gene. Use your voice, your relationships, and your community to make a difference.

We’re already planning our 2027 calendar and would love the opportunity to bring awareness to a gathering or community you’re part of. Trafficking doesn’t always look like we imagine. Sometimes, it starts with a follow, a direct message, or someone online who seems to understand. Traffickers can use social media to build trust, promise love or opportunity, and exploit that connection. Behind a friendly profile, intentions may be very different.

One of the things we love most about Refuge for Women is the community built here. It grows around the dinner table, through honest conversations, and in the joy of celebrating each other’s progress. On difficult days, it means having someone beside you who listens, prays, and reminds you that you matter. We love seeing women find connection and belonging as they rebuild their lives, knowing they don’t have to walk this journey alone.
